Excited to share that we have received $2.65M 5-year R01 grant from the National Institute of Health (NIH) / National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA)! - MPIs Dr. Jasmin Vassileva at VCU and Dr. Ahn at SNU. We aim to develop rapid and reliable behavioral paradigms for substance use disorders with adaptive design optimization (ADO). We had a lab lunch at SNU Faculty Club to celebrate it :)

Yoseph received his master’s degree in Psychology in Feb 2023! Dr. Myeong Seop Song got an offer from Samsung Electronics and will start to work as a VR Engineer from March 2023 after two years with us in the CCS Lab. Lisa will go back to KU Leuven after her 6-month lab rotation in the CCS Lab.

Mina and Jihyun received their master’s degree in Psychology in August 2021! Mina is starting her PhD in our lab and Jihyun will join Robb Rutledge’s lab at Yale University as a research technician. Sanghoon also graduated from college and will join Elizabeth Goldfarb’s lab at Yale School of Medicine as a full-time research assistant from Sep 2021. Cheoljun will move to the Bay Area with his wife Saeyeon to start his PhD in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at UC Berkeley (from Sep 2021).

BIG-BRAIN Project kick-off meeting

A team of twelve faculty received a big center grant (main PI: Dr. Ahn, sub-PIs: Dr. Jong-Hwan Lee and Dr. Taesup Moon) from the National Research Foundation (NRF) of Korea aiming to build robust and explainable artificial neural networks for analyzing multi-modal (behavior/neuroimaging/genomic) data! At the kick-off meeting held on June 21st, we presented our research and discussed how to collaborate to build and apply state-of-the-art deep neural networks to neuroscientific data.
