I’ve just cancelled the new ones on Monzo to see if that triggers the “we noticed your direct debit is cancelled” message. All a bit strange as never had it before but then I have only ever done a full switch.

Can’t get over how quick this happens.

They have this rule that both contracts have to be under the same name and the same address.

First bargain for a new lower price, and be firm and intentional. Talk to them boldly like you know whatever you want. And of course be polite.

You realise they’re two separate contracts? I guess both end around same time? Cancel the Virgin, when they take the Volt off O2, you add it again once you sign the new virgin contract

For £12 I get 250 GB which becomes unlimited with the Volt, with EU roaming as you.

They also alway have Volt promos, you may get lucky

But you’re right, I might just have to bite the bullet and cancel, and what I save can be a better sim-only deal somewhere else

Has anyone bargained with them and brought it down to new customer rates?

Yes. Go to comparison website like Moneysupermarket and see what new customers get plus what other providers give for same speeds.
Bargain along those lines. If they refuse, give your 30 days notice. Retentions will call you with a better offer.
If they don’t, let another adult in the house sign up as a new customer.
For my case I just used a new email and phone number with no issues.

That is too much if it is only broadband. I see 1gig going for £24.99 in most areas currently.

Funny thing is though when I select one of these nothing happens so what is the point

What’s stopping Monzo from being a true replacement for AIB in Ireland today?

When will Irish customers get cheque and cash lodgement options, or is Monzo intentionally leaving those behind?

Traditional banks offer loans and green finance when will Monzo offer EV/solar lending considering current crisis all are behind renewable energy.. instead of just spending tools?

With Irish bank fees rising, (aib - monthly 6eu from July 1)will Monzo compete with market-leading savings rates, or stay behind incumbents?

Is Ireland a serious growth market for Monzo or just an extension of the UK product?

If someone moves salary, savings and day-to-day banking to Monzo, what can’t they do yet?

Do you see Monzo disrupting Irish banks, or ultimately becoming just another digital add-on account?

Hopefully they’re not too sketched about two hard checks in the past two weeks. I reckon I’d be more likely declined for my credit.

Situation is, I moved in December. I told all the banks. My dad said he was sorting everything with the council. We get to March, and it turns out that they never got that, so I re-registered to vote with the government. And they’ve still not updated my electoral roll. Hopefully this hasn’t messed things up too much
