Sometimes worried, sometimes happy, sometimes lame
Sometimes little spirits echo whispers of your name
Sometimes winter, sometimes summer, sometimes rain
Some will itch the blisters til they pop and let them drain
Sometimes heavy, sometimes squishy, sometimes hard
sometimes plants and animals know the methods of their art
some are hibernating, some spend the freezes keeping guard
some will share a funny little story for each scar
And it was just me sitting in this reclining lawn chair suspended in darkness with nothing but several votive candles also floating in the darkness and there was a river, or more like a conveyer belt, made entirely of illuminated eggs flowing directly into my heart then emanating outwards onto my skin and they gave birth endless forests on my forearms and in the branches of the trees were millions of little blue eggs and they hatched into little blue people and the Little blue people started throwing ropes around the trees and dragging them across my skin dragging entire forest terrains all over my body and you see this is what the trees always wanted, they never wanted to remain stationary, the trees wanted to move just like animals move so the trees gave birth to humanity so that the humans could take the forests where the forests wanted to go, so in a way we aren’t really even our own thing, we’re just the legs and feet that trees always wanted, we exist to give the forest feet which makes a lot of sense, you know, I never really knew my place in the world but now that I know that I exist simply to mobilize vegetation I don’t really let anything bother any more and I just give my vegetable friends rides to where they need to go. And even though they don’t say a lot, I still get the sense that they appreciate the help and, honestly, even myself, I appreciate the company
Sometimes water, sometimes fire, sometimes earth
sometimes the air will leave us similarly burned
sometimes forest, sometimes gutter, sometimes church
sometimes an experience will replay in reverse
