Ensure that current functionality works fine in OSX, Linux and Windows.

Currently everything is working well in OSX. There's a minor hurdle in Linux but quite a few issues on Windows.

During this process, code should be further simplified and reused. A new lib will be introduced to hold reusable pieces of functionality between CLI and Plugins.

Keep new features to a minimum.
