In Firefox 57 all support for extensions written using other APIs than WebExtensions will stop working.
This issue is about converting FF-Remote-Control to using WebExtensions.
Being the original author of FF-Remote-Control, I have a pretty good idea about how FF-Remote-Control used to work at least, and converting that original version to WebExtensions is no small task (basically a total rewrite).
Is anybody working on such a rewrite? I'm not.
If not, then this bug is here to tell users to expect this Firefox extension to become obsolete in November 2017, when Firefox 57 is released.
