Bitcoin is a digital currency and was invented in 2008. Since then it has become a public good, contributed to by thousands and used by millions. Our goal is to make bitcoin easier to use by more people around the world, while always nourishing the original vision that makes bitcoin so unique.

We believe that great things happen when people from many different backgrounds with different ideas and perspectives come together. Our Slack workspace{:target="_blank"} was created as an open and safe space to discuss and explore everything bitcoin and design.

Open source and open design are part of our foundation, so all our work happens in public and is open for anyone to contribute to. We use Github{:target="_blank"} to organize and publish the work we produce.

Community members are involved in a variety of different projects, and you are welcome to join and help.

Our first community project is to create a Bitcoin Design Guide{:target="_blank"}. It is a free open-source community resource that helps designers, developers and others working on non-custodial bitcoin-products to create better experiences, faster. We hope that, over time, it will cover all relevant types of products, including consumer wallets, merchant interactions, exchanges and more. Better products and experiences should ultimately make it more appealing for anyone to own and use bitcoin.
