What are Templates?

Think of templates as blueprints for your databases. They come with pre-configured fields, optimized descriptions, and thoughtful structures that are battle-tested by other users.

Templates are starting points that you can customize to fit your exact needs. Use them as-is or modify them to match your workflow perfectly.

**Task Management** - Fields: name, description, due date, priority, status, tags - Perfect for: GTD systems, to-do lists, project tracking 
**Project Planner**

Navigate to **Templates** in the web app sidebar Filter by category or search for specific use cases Click on a template to see its structure, fields, and descriptions See how many people are using each template and read reviews

Each template shows:

What the template is designed for and recommended use cases All fields included with their types and descriptions Suggested links to other databases for maximum power How many users have installed it and average ratings Who created the template and when it was last updated

Using Templates

Install a template and start using it immediately:

Browse the gallery and select a template that matches your needs Click **"Add to Hyperaide"** to install the template The database is created with all fields and descriptions Begin using your new database immediately or customize first You can install the same template multiple times with different names. For example, install "Project Planner" separately for work projects and personal projects.

Customizing Templates

Templates are fully customizable after installation:

Enhance templates with additional fields specific to your workflow: 
- Add a "Client" field to a task template for freelance work
- Include an "Energy Level" field in a habit tracker
- Add "Budget" to a project template for financial tracking
Simplify templates by removing fields you don't need: 
- Remove priority levels if you don't prioritize tasks
- Skip tags if you prefer other organization methods
- Eliminate fields that add complexity without value
Refine field descriptions to better guide your assistant: 
- Make descriptions more specific to your use case
- Add examples or formatting preferences
- Include constraints or validation rules
Link your template-based databases to others: 
- Link tasks to projects for project management

Creating Your Own Templates

Have a unique workflow? Share your database structure with the community:

Use your database for a while and refine it until it's working perfectly Remove personal data and ensure descriptions are clear and helpful Click **"Share as Template"** in database settings Provide a clear title, description, and usage instructions Submit your template for community review and publishing

Template Creation Best Practices

Write detailed, helpful descriptions for the database and each field Organize fields in a way that makes sense for the use case Use the right field types (text, number, date, boolean) for each field Include example values in descriptions to clarify expected format

Template Examples

**Database 1: Clients** - name (text) - Client company or person name - email (text) - Primary contact email - hourly_rate (number) - Agreed hourly rate in USD - status (text) - Active, Inactive, or Prospect - notes (text) - Important information about the client 
**Database 2: Projects**  
- name (text) - Project name or description
- client_id (link to Clients) - Which client this project is for
- status (text) - Not Started, In Progress, Complete
- deadline (date) - When the project is due
- hours_worked (number) - Time spent so far

**Database 3: Invoices**
- invoice_number (text) - Invoice identifier
- client_id (link to Clients) - Client being invoiced
- amount (number) - Total invoice amount
- date_sent (date) - When invoice was sent
- paid (boolean) - Payment received status
**Database 1: Notes** - title (text) - Note title or topic - content (text) - Full note content - created_date (date) - When note was created - tags (text) - Comma-separated topics 
**Database 2: Topics**
- name (text) - Topic or category name
- description (text) - What this topic covers

**Database 3: Resources**
- title (text) - Resource name
- url (text) - Link to the resource
- type (text) - Article, Video, Book, Course, etc.
- notes (text) - Your thoughts or summary

Link notes to topics and resources for a connected knowledge base.
**Database 1: Workouts** - date (date) - When workout occurred - type (text) - Cardio, Strength, Yoga, etc. - duration (number) - Minutes spent exercising - intensity (text) - Low, Medium, High - notes (text) - How you felt, what you did 
**Database 2: Meals**
- date (date) - When meal was consumed
- meal_type (text) - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snack
- description (text) - What you ate
- calories (number) - Estimated calories

**Database 3: Sleep**
- date (date) - Night of sleep
- hours (number) - Hours of sleep
- quality (text) - Poor, Fair, Good, Excellent
- notes (text) - Dreams, interruptions, etc.
