<p>Dr. Sarp Oral is a Research and Development Staff Member at the

<a href="http://www.olcf.ornl.gov/" target="other">Oak Ridge

Leadership Computing Facility</a> (OLCF) of

<a href="http://www.ornl.gov" target="other">Oak Ridge National

Laboratory</a>, where he is a member of the Technology Integration

Group and the Task Lead for the

<a href="storage.html">File and Storage Systems projects</a>.

<p>His research and development interests are focused on computer

benchmarking, parallel I/O and file systems, high-performance

computing and networking, system and storage area networks, computer

architecture, fault-tolerance, storage technologies, and networked

storage.

<p>Dr. Oral holds a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from

<a href="http://www.ufl.edu" target="other">University of Florida</a>

and an M.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering from

<a href="http://www.cu.edu.tr/eng/"

target="other">Cukurova University</a>, Turkey. During his Ph.D. studies

Dr. Oral has served as the High Performance Networking Group Leader

and also as the Associate Laboratory Director at the

<a href="http://www.hcs.ufl.edu/" target="other">High-Performance Computing

Simulation Lab</a>, University of Florida under Dr. Alan D. George, his

Ph.D. advisor.

<p>Dr. Oral is currently serving as the Co-Chair of

<a href="http://www.opensfs.org" target="other">OpenSFS</a> Benchmarking

Work Group (BWG) and also as a member of the

<a href="http://lustre.org" target="other">

Lustre</a> User Group Meeting Organizing Committee. He can be reached
