  1. Fix to work with updated kernFeatureWriter 

    Argument naming within the kernFeatureWriter has changed (to avoid multi-letter options without single-letter equivalent). Update this script to reflect that.

In addition to that, remove some unnecessary code (os.chdir), and clarify some variables.
