The BiModal Design project is dedicated to building interfaces that work for both humans and AI agents. We pledge to make participation in our community a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body size, visible or invisible disability, ethnicity, sex characteristics, gender identity and expression, level of experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality, personal appearance, race, caste, color, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.
Examples of behavior that contributes to a positive environment include:

- Inclusive Communication: Using welcoming and inclusive language that helps newcomers feel welcome

- Focus on Learning: Approaching disagreements as opportunities to learn and improve
- Professional Conduct: Maintaining professional behavior in all project interactions
- Accessibility Awareness: Considering the diverse needs of both human users and AI agents
Examples of unacceptable behavior include:
- Harassment: The use of sexualized language or imagery, unwelcome sexual attention, or advances of any kind
- Discrimination: Trolling, insulting or derogatory comments, and personal or political attacks
- Privacy Violations: Publishing others' private information without their explicit permission
- Professional Misconduct: Other conduct which could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional setting
- Disruption: Deliberately disrupting discussions, events, or community activities
- Spam or Self-Promotion: Excessive promotion of unrelated projects or commercial products
This Code of Conduct applies within all community spaces, including:
- GitHub repositories, issues, and pull requests
- Documentation and example code
- Community forums and discussions
- Social media interactions related to BiModal Design
- Events, conferences, and meetups (virtual or in-person)
- Private communications when they relate to community activities
This Code of Conduct also applies when an individual is officially representing the community in public spaces.
Instances of abusive, harassing, or otherwise unacceptable behavior may be reported to the community leaders responsible for enforcement at:

All reports will be reviewed and investigated promptly and fairly. All community leaders are obligated to respect the privacy and security of the reporter of any incident.
Community leaders will follow these Community Impact Guidelines in determining the consequences for any action they deem in violation of this Code of Conduct:
Community Impact: Use of inappropriate language or other behavior deemed unprofessional or unwelcome in the community.
Consequence: A private, written warning from community leaders, providing clarity around the nature of the violation and an explanation of why the behavior was inappropriate. A public apology may be requested.
Community Impact: A violation through a single incident or series of actions.
Consequence: A warning with consequences for continued behavior. No interaction with the people involved, including unsolicited interaction with those enforcing the Code of Conduct, for a specified period of time. This includes avoiding interactions in community spaces as well as external channels like social media. Violating these terms may lead to a temporary or permanent ban.
Community Impact: A serious violation of community standards, including sustained inappropriate behavior.
Consequence: A temporary ban from any sort of interaction or public communication with the community for a specified period of time. No public or private interaction with the people involved, including unsolicited interaction with those enforcing the Code of Conduct, is allowed during this period. Violating these terms may lead to a permanent ban.
Community Impact: Demonstrating a pattern of violation of community standards, including sustained inappropriate behavior, harassment of an individual, or aggression toward or disparagement of classes of individuals.
Consequence: A permanent ban from any sort of public interaction within the community.

- Implementation Focus: Keep discussions practical and actionable for implementers
- Accessibility Mindset: Consider both human accessibility and agent compatibility in all proposals
- Performance Awareness: Discuss the performance implications of suggested approaches
- Constructive Feedback: Provide specific, actionable suggestions for improvement
- Multiple Perspectives: Consider how proposed solutions affect different types of users and agents
- Standards Alignment: Reference relevant accessibility standards and best practices
- Real-World Context: Consider practical implementation constraints and business requirements
- Clarity First: Write for both beginners and experienced developers
- Complete Examples: Provide working code examples that can be tested
- Accurate Information: Verify that examples and claims are correct before submitting
- Inclusive Language: Use terminology that is accessible to global contributors

- Documentation Improvements: Making BiModal Design more accessible through better docs
- Educational Content: Blog posts, tutorials, and talks that help others learn
- Code Contributions: Improvements to tools, examples, and core framework components
- Community Support: Helping others in discussions and providing mentorship
If you believe you have been falsely or unfairly accused of violating this Code of Conduct, you should notify the project maintainers with a concise description of your grievance. Appeals will be handled according to the same review process as initial reports.
This Code of Conduct is adapted from the Contributor Covenant, version 2.1, and includes BiModal Design-specific guidelines to support our unique focus on dual-mode interface design.
