I don't think you've been waiting for an answer to this question, but I write it down for other questions in the future. I'm transforming the codes of this project and applying them to my project. And I met a same issue like you. This is how I solved.

Make getter / setter functions to records.

As-is

 function PaginationFactory() {
    var currentPage = 1;
    var records = 0;
    var maxSize = 10;

    var service = {
      currentPage: currentPage,
      records: records,
      maxSize: maxSize,
    };

    return service;

  }

To-be

function PaginationFactory() {
  var currentPage = 1;
  var records = 0;
  var maxSize = 10;

  var service = {
    currentPage: currentPage,
    records: records,
    maxSize: maxSize,
    setRecords: setRecords,
    getRecords: getRecords
  };

  function setRecords(val) {
      records = val;
  }

  function getRecords() {
      return records;
  }

  return service;

}

Change "all" recordsCount Access part using 1's getter / setter functions

ex)

    // As-is
    $scope.recordsCount = PaginationFactory.records;
    // To-be
    $scope.recordsCount = PaginationFactory.getRecords();

I think this issue occured because of some closure problems in PaginationFactory's records variable.
When I check below codes, the console.log prints 0 for records.

// original code
PaginationFactory.records = result[2][0] > 0 ? result[2][0]['count(*)'] - 100 : 0;
console.log(PaginationFactory.records);
