Site Reliability Engineer at AB Tasty
July 2023 - current- Architecture and maintenance of the collect, processing and serving infrastructure for the data team on GCP, handling ~22k events/sec in our main entry point. 100% managed via Terraform, solution include a multi-regional GKE with Istio, message queue system (Pub/Sub), distributed streaming pipeline (Dataflow) and data warehouse (BigQuery)
- Implement and maintain our internal observability infrastructure, with Grafana, Loki, Cortex and Alloy agents, using Open Telemetry protocol to avoid vendor lock-in
- Develop a streaming pipeline to generate telemetry from access logs for each of our customer to compute their SLAs
- Fully rework the VPC, network implementation and IaC code to be future-proof and improve reliability, maintainability and our velocity for new features
- Develop various CLI (golang) for internal usage, including Terraform wrapper with multiple features, markdown-to-confluence sync and infrastructure documentation auto-generation
- Implement easy workflow to generate infrastructure changelog for internal communication
- Write ADRs to encourage constructive discussions before implementation, and also improve our onboarding process
- Industrialize our process, and offer better autonomy to the feature teams over the infrastructure with Terraform modules, documentations, CI pipelines and safeguards to implement their needs without relying on the infrastructure team
DevOps at AB Tasty
October 2017 - June 2023- Took back the control of the AWS infrastructure from our provider (Oxalide)
- Architected and deployed our second generation infrastructure for our collect pipeline (~5k events/sec), using GCP and Terraform
- Implemented Grafana as dashboard and monitoring solution (replacing Datadog)
- Implemented FinOps strategy and best practices to control and reduced our infrastructure cost, resulting in $1+ million cost saving per year
