  • HOW THE GATES FOUNDATION NAVIGATED VACCINE HESITANCY WITH DCIPHER The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation wanted to better understand the stories and conversations fueling vaccine hesitancy in Pakistan, Nigeria, and Kenya. Tackling this through traditional research methods would have taken forever, so they teamed up with Dcipher Analytics. Using our advanced language tools, we examined millions of social media posts and news articles across English, Swahili, and Urdu. Our platform grouped similar narratives into themes, highlighting the most influential topics and surfacing key barriers to vaccination. With data on sentiment, engagement, and reach for each major narrative, the Foundation was able to pinpoint what really mattered to communities. These insights helped adjust their immunization strategies and communication efforts to address people’s real concerns – ultimately working toward higher vaccine confidence.
