NuclearNic says the WFH study is BOGUS!


Dear Chris and Mike,
You recently discussed a study which concluded that developer productivity is not hampered by remote work. I agree with you that this is complete bs!

I work at a medium sized FinTech that offered 3 days remote per week as an option. On any given day, there would be at least 20 engineers in the office. The amount of incidental learning, impromptu brainstorming, etc. was so unbelievably satisfying:

"Looks like you're stuck, need a rubber duck?"
"Could I get your thoughts on this tricky problem?"
"What are you folks busy with, I've seen this before!"

More than these, there just is no way that a junior dev could possibly have the same experience onboarding experience as before.
