Old Grumpy Developer worries he's becoming the resident "old man"
Hey guys, long time listener here and I've always appreciated your NON-BS response to things happening in the tech world. I'd love your opinion on something that is showing up all over my tech channels these days. Web3.
Now I'm all for better payments on the web, and depending on the application, decentralization is great. However, it SEEMS like the answer is just throw everything, including code, data, etc into the blockchain. Really?
This sounds like a fun proof of concept, but its been months of talking about how this is going to kill the web as we know it, and yet, when you ask people for some solid examples, the answer is always "do your own research" and "Cypto 4-eva"
Have I finally become the resident "old man" in these circles shaking my fist at these crazy kids?
What's your take? Is web3 an actual real movement and thing we should be paying attention to, or it just a niche thing for cryto-bros and shady businesses.
