SpazzyC's 32bit Laptops are on the way!

Hi Guys,

I did put it in the post on Tuesday night.

Looks like it has entered your Country, and should be there next week.

What should arrive is a cubic orange Jackery box that contains the 2 laptops, 2 power adapters, and the extra 2GB DIMM that I pulled out of the 1 system.

I looked up a little history on the laptops that jogged my memory:

They were bought in April of 2006 with 1GB RAM each, and Windows XP (I think the media center edition). They were 2000$ (CAD) each, which was the biggest single purchase our tiny IT department had been allowed to make to that point. They were meant to start our laptop fleet for loaning out for trade shows and the like. We got good use out of them. Then like most equipment, they were replaced and began sitting on the shelves. Then we needed the space. So I was lucky enough to get to take them home. I upgraded them as best as I could. They were even loaned out to some cousins who didn’t have any devices for homeschooling when the pandemic hit. They came back to me and have been sitting quietly in a corner waiting for use again.

The stickers on Laptop 2 are from when I started supporting Ubuntu-Mate on Patreon circa 2015.

I hope they do the job for you. I’ve caught up on LUP episodes, and it was fun to hear my Tag on air. I don’t think that has happened since Tech Talk Today.
