Dhanesh is looking for wisdom on how to pick

Hello guys! Regular listener of the show here. Over the past few weeks, I've been enjoying hearing about Michael's experiences with Python. Being a Python dev myself, it's always interesting to see people speak the serpent language. 

However, here's what got me thinking - given Michael's experience with a few other languages, is there a template process which is followed to make decisions about the tech to use for a project? Or is it just about trying out new things when there's a chance? I'm curious to know how these architecture choices are made!
