14” M1 Pro processor… This thing is weird.

I have some workflows that almost exclusively use the 10 neural engine cores, but the activity monitor won’t give me a graphical view of their utilization.

Do you (plural) believe that we’re going to see devices with more specialized cores? We’re already seeing intel engineer solutions with big/little architecture. If specialized cores become the norm across multiple devices how does this impact software developers? 

Additional background: The neural engine workflow is using Topaz AI’s video enhance tool—which does a great job restoring old home movies and upscaling them from 480i to higher resolutions and frame rates.

What’s also cool is I can run Topaz in the background and I still have full GPU/CPU availability to run VMs for my normal working day job. One workflow doesn’t impact the other… there’s just more heat generated.
