Time writes in with his bulletproof Linux recipe...

I use an Intel NUCs as my desktops, and Dell XPS' as my laptops running Fedora. They both have integrated graphics and nothing weird in them so you know they will have excellent linux support. For gaming I have an xbox. My wife is a luddite and uses an iPad.

I used to be big into PC gaming but Window's 10 and forced broken driver updates ruined any enjoyment I had. Any operating system that makes decisions on my behalf is too much for me to consider going back.

Stay on the rails and don't do anything out of the ordinary. Upgrade only when you have to and maintain an Ansible playbook to make it easy. That's how you survive and won't be tempted to use an operating system that needs an internet connection to search your list of locally installed applications.
