Very long-term listener, first email. Not your oldest listener, but I remember _watching_ The Linux
Action Show on Youtube back in 2010, and have since followed JB through LAN, Coder Radio, Self
Hosted and LUP. I've been a member for as long as I can remember, but never actually wrote in to the
show. Well, y'all finally did it.. You made me write in, by doing the TUI Challenge. This is
something close to me.
A little bit of a background, I fell in love with TUIs when I did a TUI challenge ~13 years ago.
Back then, my friends and I uninstalled X.Org entirely, living purely in the Linux console and
forced ourselves to find ways to get things done. My current music setup with MPD still uses parts
of that original `mpd.conf` just on a different machine.
Today, I live in the terminal. So most of the #TUIChallenge wasn't a challenge, just daily life.
Only web browsing and music playback are categories that I usually use a GUI for. However, for
honesty's sake, I continue using a web browser at work. I don't have a way around that, or around
using MS Teams as a GUI for video calls. At home though, I've shifted 100% to TUI since last week
and only Web Browsing as been a PITA. Modern web is much worse to load in a TUI compared to 13 years
ago :-)
