Dom hates his new Mac, and it is OUR fault!

Hello. I've been listening to the show for some years now and I always hear you guys talking about how great Apple hardware is great and, for some time, I've got convinced macOs was the best platform out there.

At my current work I was given the option to pick a PC or a Macbook and I totally went with Mac M1 because I was totally hyped by the Apple propaganda you do in the show.

8 months in and I hate it. Multiple desktops are terrible, the window manager is terrible. Sending windows to other monitor is a pain in the back. Resizing? Oh, you have to use the mouse!!!

The amount of customization you need to do in this platform to get it into a decent state is tremendous. I had to learn a sort of scripting language to use Karabiner, I bought a proprietary window manager. And all other sorts of problems I have every day from taking a screenshot, copying and pasting with my right hand (yeah, not everybody is right-handed).

All those arcane shortcuts that hurt my hands. Every time my external DAC stop working while it works JUST FINE on Linux and Windows.

Don't get me started with adapters!!! That is awesome to carry an adapter everywhere when I want to bring my external keyboard and mouse.

Wanna talk about software compatibility and games? Virtual machines running on macOS? Databases not compatible with it?

I wonder if you're really using mac or you're just looking into charts with benchmarks about battery life.

PS: this computer gets really really hot in summer!
