Daniel says the social part of IRL Matters
I've been listening for a good 5 years at this point, really love the show. I wanted to comment on the remote debate.
I will concede that the tooling is good enough to get the job done effectively, that includes pair programming.
Nevertheless, losing the social side of things is a detriment to the work culture. If I like you because we play Pickleball after work, I may be nice about the fact you're failing to execute and putting me behind. If you're just a name on a screen, you're getting blamed in the nicest way I can think so.
Chris, you have called this out before. When we see each other as humans, we work better and it is very hard to see each other as human if all we do is talk to each other during standup, if you even have a standup meeting.
Some of us actually like people.
