I have been using Tube Archivist (https://github.com/bbilly1/tubearchivist) for a while now and it is fantastic. It is a self-hosted YouTube media server. It runs in a docker container which meant the setup was pretty easy and uses yt-dlp in the back end to download youtube videos. I have used a few YouTube downloaders in the past like TubeSync but TubeArchivist is the best one I've used so far. Despite being a relatively new project it feels very polished, the web interface looks good, and is easy to use. The developers are very active, I have put in many feature requests and was surprised by the quick response and openness to implementing the features.
