Chuck has The Anti-Luddite Take

There's nothing Luddite about reducing your threat surface.   Any vehicle that can autonomously control any part of the drive-train can be turned into a weapon by a hacker to physically harm you and yours.  

If/when I ever get a new car, I will disable all wireless connectivity to the drive-train after the warranty expires.  I will only connect it as needed for repairs.  In fact, knowing that I *can* disable it will be the criteria for buying the car.

Ha ha, this could be a little business for JB Garage, where you learn how to install flip switches in people's cars to turn that stuff off.
