> I noticed my fedora server 36 is end of life so I guess I am at my 12 month cycle where I tear everything down and rebuild it with a new idea of how I'm going to maintain it. It was proxmox/fedora server/ansible but this time because of you two it will be nix on bare metal. I don't update proxmox or look after it so that is getting the chop too. I am going to use nixos because even though 99% of my server is built with ansible I can still be naughty and create a systemd service for my backup script directly or "just try something out then I'll put it in my config if it works". Maybe this time will be "perfect"

> If you like ctrl-r fuzzy find and you use zsh, check out fzf-tab, throws auto-complete for shell commands into an fzf window, it works for anything that zsh auto completion works for! its incredibly useful and its the only zsh plugin I use. it can even be used to discover what flags are used for, like what are the args to `tar`? type `tar -<tab>` and type extract to find out that `-x` is the flag for it!

> long time listener first time booster. Appreciate all the content you guys generate across all the shows! I’ve been self-hosting a lot of services when I can over the years. I enjoy learning about new projects and like they idea of “owning” my data locally.

> I've been playing around with nix flakes recently and really sinking my teeth in to this and I was wondering what are your thoughts on ditching docker hub and just building images from nix packages? I had tried ansible, but I was peeved that that it does not clean up after itself if I want to try something, like leaving lots of files behind. I know the cleaning is on me, but with nix, I don't have to worry about that.

> I'm looking in to using a nix flake with systemd-nspawnd (https://nixos.wiki/wiki/NixOS_Containers) to manage my "containers", setup my backup jobs with the borg service.
