I think that to decide whether Linux has "won", you first need to decide what winning means. Maybe for some people server and coffee machine market share is enough, but for me it will never be enough as long as using a non-creepy desktop operating system is still considered niche, with all the problems that come along with that. So has Linux won because WSL is in Windows now?
Not to me, because one of my favorite features of desktop Linux is not needing to manage and run Windows. What's the point of having a neat kernel when your OS is still serving you ads, ignoring your settings, tracking you, and being generally disrespectful?
