I just wanted to share an app I found that has blown my mind, I'm sure it has been shared many times already but just in case it hasn't. https://blakeblackshear.github.io/frigate/

I have been getting by with Motioneye for a while, its done the basics of what I've needed but never been amazing or something I would mess with. I'm aware of Blue Iris but never got round to setting up a Windows VM and paying the licence. Frigate has just the right amount of smart for me.

Person recognition so its not constantly recording trees moving with the wind or camera artefacts. Works perfectly with the Google coral USB so doesn't stress my CPU. Takes a cropped zoomed screenshot of the person and uses it as the thumbnail of the video. Integrates easily with home assistant via MQTT and a custom integration via HACS meaning I can see all the media off network without punching any holes in my firewall. Finally all the config is in YAML, you'll feel right at home Alex.
