> You mentioned the JB website in this episode, and it reminded me of Office Hours. I know it's on hiatus, but it would be awesome to have a new episode that talks about how the websites doing, and how features like self-hosted RSS is coming along! Maybe there could be a "Office Hours Tax" on each JB show, were a small split goes to the Office Hours fund? (Also, this is a Star Trek boost, since the original is under the sat limit)

> I am slowly starting to look into more self hosting, and it is thanks to nix. I understand the appeal of Docker, but I have never been motivated enough to set up compose files etc to handle the container, and the data that goes with it. Having multiple images to choose from certainly doesn't help either, IMO.

> Now, I am running audiobookshelf, forgejo, and also looking to set up a SubSonic implementation for music handling, and nix's configuration has made all of this an absolute breeze.

> My OpenWRT router is also being replaced with something running nix. OpenWRT's configuration and update model has felt increasingly clunky the more I play with, learn about, and use nix.
>
> Having said that, like you Alex, there are certainly some aspects of the nix language that annoy me from time to time. I have a love dislike relationship with it. I am willing to push on and learn however, as there is no better way of configuring multiple systems from the same git repository and code base.

> Just stumbled upon the ErsatzTV github repo. Being a native german speaker, it took me a second because of your pronunciation. Try so pronounce the "Er" like air. The "ai" sound from air is much closer to the german E pronunciation. The "satz" part is perfectly fine :) "Ersatz" is the german word for "replacement". So it is your "tv replacement"

> Chris just wanted to say thank you for your candor in your Nextcloud journey. Good or bad we love it all. Please keep us posted as you make your way to the rock solid setup. I'd like to build something for my folks that I can get them access to via Tailscale as a Google Drive replacement (primarily for storage). I want something I can setup automatic security updates on and just check in on periodically, but not have to work on frequently to support. Thanks for the great show guys!
