Todd says choice saves Linux in the end...
Hey Chris,
During last week's episode you were definitely upset over the comments made with GNOME. While I also do not agree with the comments made by the developer, we can not forget the beauty of FOSS and Linux, which is choice. Even if GNOME completely kills extensions, what separates Linux from Windows and MacOS is, if Apple makes a UI decision, MacOS users are forced to live with it. On Linux, we have an ecosystem of various different desktop environments and window managers. We still have KDE with all of the customization it offers and is a first class desktop environment. So to me, there is no spilled milk over GNOME minimizing the tweaking and customization, there are plenty of alternatives that are a few commands away.
