Removed Post Why I’m skipping the proprietary "Little Snitch" for Linux
reason: (1) despite criticising it, this is effectively advertising proprietary software, and (2) this inaccurately suggests that DNS blocking solves the same problem as an application firewall

Removed Comment [@crossy road](https://crossyroadonline.io/) While generally reliable, NTFS can become fragmented over time, which may affect performance. Additionally, some advanced features (like permissions) may not translate well when accessing the file system from Linux. by isaaca@friendica.eskimo.com

Removed Comment > Nope, you are making that up, I never suggested that. Words carry more weight than their explicit meaning. I'll leave you with one sentence to put what you said in perspective. "She could've prevented it by not walking home alone at night wearing such provocative clothing". > that dude is a nobody that did a rage-bait to get his 15 minutes of fame I think the analogy of the example sentence applies perfectly to this sentence too. You're basically saying "he was asking for it" and no, he wasn't. He so obviously wasn't. by FoundFootFootage78@lemmy.ml

Restored Comment With a lot of sorrow in my heart, I have to admit it's true. Bottles was SO good and clearly ahead of the curve just a couple of years ago. But the main dev had interests elsewhere. And, eventually, it became this mess. I hope Bottles Next will succeed at sparking their interest over a longer period of time. by throwaway87458904

Removed Post Release: Beyond the Iron Cycle
reason: this *might* just be your shell scripts and alpine binaries, but it would be too much work to be sure. a tarball of binaries on a limewire.com (lmao) is just too sus to encourage n00bs to run from /c/linux, sorry. i suggest you use a git host like codeberg, and separate your own code from 3rd party deps for auditability. also auto-update mechanism is effectively a RCE vector so even if there is no malware in *this* tarball you might still deliver it later...
