Legends

I never download anything from Nexon because of all the perfectly good projects they ruined and later shut down in the past. So this is unsurprising. The last straw for me was DevCat’s Mabinogi Duel.

Peeps at Sony probably prefer to treat their PC port business as a tease to bring more PC consumers to buy a PS5. With the ramnarok and all that it’s some machiavellian perfect timing.
Will go ahead and share this in relation to another comment thread I’ve chosen to block instead of replying: https://www.reuters.com/technology/sony-facing-79-bln-mass-lawsuit-over-playstation-store-prices-2023-11-21/
Not that I support this kind of lawsuit anyway. Before digital storefronts such as Valve’s Steam, development studios would earn a much lower cut from game sales.
Is the decades old standard 30% cut for digital storefronts fair? I believe that should be negotiable. Some haven’t and probably will never offer a quality or quantity of services that even comes close to those that came before them, so they could and should take a lower cut instead of increasing prices and commisions because they’re fully invested in AI slop.
Now then, I know Valve lets devs generate Steam keys for their games and gift/sell them outside of Steam without Valve ever taking a cut from those sales. That’s usually why people can buy legitimate PC keys on several sites like Humble or Fanatical at lower prices. Does anyone know if Sony allows this as well?

If Microsoft were honest they’d change the name from Windows to Backdoors.

See, kids? Science can be fun too!

Regarding Xbox, I’d say it was already shitty since 2002 with Xbox Live.

Yeah. I’ve got more than enough of those on Steam for free, but that’s mostly because of interacting with it’s community events or playing games there. You should still be able to use regular emojis from your keyboard too (using hotkeys or copying and pasting them from elsewhere).

Lack of emotes/emojis, broken links and rotated pictures? I have never experienced anything remotely similar on Steam or Matrix. Is it a .gif search bar or stickers what you might be missing?

You’re pretty good. 🫵😎

Steam’s astonishingly less easy to configure but once it’s done it works for basic group chats when playing. It would be amazing if they hadn’t bugged screen sharing on Steam Chat, as it still works well when opened from the main Steam window.
I usually prefer chatting through Steam for anything gaming related and jumping to Matrix or even Jitsi on web for video conferencing and other matters. I’m also open to using other things such as XMPP, Delta Chat, SimpleX and so on, but Steam as a common space for PC users and Matrix for private conversations with all the useful features just hits the right balance between accesibility, reliability and privacy for me.

We’ll see. I do give a fuck about what’s installed on my computer. Some complaints are worth sharing, specially if they help other consumers and devs can later correct mistakes.

Trying to. Thanks for prying a smile out of me.

If everyone, them included, keeps investing in garbage that sabotages sustainable IT development as they’ve done with the latest server farm crazes, not only consoles will sell better but also streaming subscription services. Local, personal and somewhat private computing will be reserved for a select and wealthy few if we keep in this direction with pricier components, unoptimized code and unleashed billionaires.

MATH DIED

I’d just change a few things, as I’ve enjoyed games with collectibles since very young because of how cheap they were and how they pushed me to broaden my social circles to trade my spares. So I’d be fine if instead of having a market for them we just traded those with friends on Steam.

As long as a product or service can be better and people behind it are unwilling to make it so, there will be others modding it for themselves, their friends or the world.

Well said. 👏

Removing/disabling DRM should never require online activation. Delete and block whichever sites are spreading this.
I though I had deleted that. I immediately regreted posting whatever it was you read. And yes, you’re right.
