I used Cromite for a long time. Then one update the author added a 60 Hz refresh rate cap to help with avoiding fingerprinting with no way to turn it off. It now has an option, but for about a month it didn’t; the author fought it. The janky scrolling was annoying enough to make me stop using Cromite (and I moved to Brave, ironically). I’d switch back but I’m lazy.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•talon voice, self hosted voice control of your computerEnglish
4·11 months agoIs this the one that can use mouth noises like tongue clicking to perform actions? I saw one video a long time ago with someone writing code via voice software and it has some kind of neat way of using sounds other than words to control things. Haven’t been able to figure out what it was.

News@lemmy.world•Target can’t get its footing after its DEI program demise and a 40-day boycott against the retailer. Foot traffic at stores is down for the eighth consecutive weekEnglish
61·1 year agoThe “Target experience” for me has always been “find product, wait 30 minutes for a cashier”. Couldn’t pay me to shop there anymore. Such a hostile environment.
I’ve been using Anveo for a little over 12 years. I haven’t had to touch it after I got the flow set up the way I like, other than paying the bill (it’s prepaid). Works well for me. I use it for actual calls, but it has SMS support that I forward to my cell phone just in case someone texts the Anveo number. (I use it with an ATA and a DECT cordless phone)

2·1 year agoI usually get bored with games like this, but went in blind since it was on Game Pass and now it’s the only game I play. I love just roaming around and doing side quests.

12·2 years agoI use Fossil for all of my personal projects. Having a wiki and bug tracker built-in is really nice, and I like the way repositories sync. It’s perfect for small teams that want everything, but don’t want to rely on a host like GitHub or set up complicated software themselves.

1134·2 years agoI had this set up the day it was available in my area. Never got an alert. I find it difficult to believe I wasn’t “exposed” during the pandemic, so I assume this didn’t really provide much value.
