RIBOSE: the website

this site is an exercise in writing things down / sharing with others / having fun online / ???

it was created in late september 2022, and has been slowly built up with handwritten HTML. it will never feature third-party ads, affiliate links, cookies, or art/text/code made with generative AI. light and dark mode are available for most pages through your browser or OS settings (though you should know that i have a strong preference for light mode). most images on the site are dithered.

ribose (C₅H₁₀O₅) is a sugar molecule, most famous for its role in the sugar-phosphate backbone of RNA. the domain name, ribo.zone, is a reference to the ribosome, a complex of RNA and protein that translates the codons of mRNA transcripts into amino acids, assembling new proteins.
