Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about RONIN and automated job applications.
How does RONIN auto-apply to jobs?
RONIN uses on-device AI with computer vision and a language model to see your screen like a human. It opens the browser, navigates to job application pages, fills every form field using your profile, and clicks submit — fully automated.
Is my data safe with RONIN?
By default, yes. The local AI runs entirely on your machine and your resume, profile, and job data never leave your device. If you enable the optional External AI feature (OpenAI, Ollama, etc.), job data is sent to the API provider you configure. Anonymous analytics (event counts, app version, OS) are also sent when enabled — you can turn this off in Settings.
How does job discovery work?
RONIN uses plugin-based scrapers to crawl job sites like LinkedIn. It opens the site in its browser, scrolls through listings, navigates to each job page, and uses AI to extract the title, company, description, salary, and skills. Each job is scored against your profile and imported to your pipeline in real-time.
What job sites does RONIN work with?
RONIN works on any job site — LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, and more. Job discovery plugins are available for LinkedIn with more coming soon. Auto-apply uses computer vision so it adapts to any application form.
How much does RONIN cost?
RONIN offers a free trial with 20 auto-applications. The full license is a one-time payment of $49 — no subscriptions, no recurring fees. You get unlimited applications and 2 years of updates.
Do I need API keys or a cloud account?
No. RONIN downloads AI models locally on first launch and runs everything on your machine. No OpenAI keys, no cloud accounts, no internet required for the AI to work.
Do I need to sign into job sites? Is that safe?
Some sites like LinkedIn require you to be logged in. RONIN opens its own Chrome profile, completely separate from your personal browser. Your job site credentials stay sandboxed inside that profile and are never sent anywhere — the AI and automation run entirely on your machine.
What are the minimum system requirements?
macOS: macOS 12+ with Apple Silicon (M2 or later) and 16 GB RAM. Windows: Windows 10+ (64-bit) with 8 GB+ RAM. A GPU with Vulkan support is recommended for faster AI inference on Windows, but RONIN also works on CPU. The AI models are approximately 8 GB and are downloaded on first launch.
Does RONIN work on Windows or Linux?
RONIN supports macOS (12+) with Apple Silicon and Windows 10+ (64-bit). Linux support is planned for a future release.
