A2Z WEB LTD, a UK-based company operating SharpAPI, is committed to protecting customer data and adhering to the highest standards of data privacy, fully compliant with EU GDPR regulations. Our operations are based in the UK, with data securely stored on servers located within the EU (currently in Germany). To strengthen our privacy framework further, A2Z WEB LTD has signed [OpenAI’s Data Processing Addendum (DPA)](https://openai.com/policies/data-processing-addendum/), ensuring that any personal data processed through OpenAI’s API is managed in strict alignment with GDPR requirements. This step provides customers with enhanced transparency and control over their data, reinforcing our commitment to a privacy-first approach.

**SOC 2 Type II Certification**

SharpAPI is proud to be **SOC 2 Type II certified**, a globally recognized standard that verifies our controls for security, availability, and confidentiality. This certification demonstrates our ongoing commitment to keeping customer data safe and maintaining the highest level of trust.

**How We Use Your Data**

At SharpAPI, we respect that your data is your data. When you interact with our AI-powered endpoints, we only process your information as needed to deliver the requested AI results. This data is handled exclusively for parsing and is never used to improve or train OpenAI models unless you specifically opt in. We retain data in our database for the sole purpose of allowing you to retrieve your results at a later time. By default, this data is stored for a period between 30 and 90 days, depending on your needs. For clients requiring stricter data control, we offer flexible retention options, including a minimum 10-minute data deletion window upon request.

**OpenAI’s Data Privacy Standards**

As our model provider, OpenAI is committed to data privacy in line with GDPR. Since March 1, 2023, OpenAI does not use data sent to their API for model training or improvement unless users explicitly opt in. Any data sent to OpenAI is retained for a maximum of 30 days, solely for the purpose of preventing abuse. Following this period, it is automatically deleted unless otherwise required by law. This careful handling of data is part of OpenAI’s DPA with A2Z WEB LTD, ensuring that all customer data is processed in compliance with the highest standards of privacy and security.
