Today, the SouthEast Linux Fest Call For Participation (CFP) opens.  If you have ever thought of speaking at SELF, if you’d like to host a BoF (Birds of a Feather meetup) for some FOSS community, or you want to organize a panel to bring in multiple perspectives on a subject, we want to hear from you!

The 2025 SouthEast LinuxFest is this weekend, Friday 6/13 through Sunday 6/15, at the Sheraton Charlotte Airport Hotel in Charlotte, NC. As always, SELF is 100% FREE TO ATTEND. See the schedule here. Our theme this year is retro computing. Have some cool retro computer gear you’d like to bring to show or swap? List it here. We will once again be offering free ham radio license exams, ham radio exam crams, running ham radio special event station W4L, a nearly around the clock LAN Party, GPG key signing, and much more. Register to attend and we hope to see you there!

We are also looking for volunteers for this year’s event. Volunteers are eligible for the volunteer raffle, which features everything from servers and networking equipment to books about open source autographed by the author.

Our room block in the host hotel is now sold out. Across the road is the SpringHill and it is owned by the same company as our host hotel. They should be able to run the shuttle over so you dont have to cross the highway on foot.

Between now and March 1, 2024 we will be accepting proposals via the SELF 2024 CFP form.  Speakers who have been selected will be notified in early March.
