Twemoji has an aspect ratio of about 18:25 (1.385) which every flag is adjusted for. An exception is made for the flags of Switzerland and Vatican City since those has an exact ratio of 1:1 (1.000), and the flag of Nepal which does not have a rectangular flag.
But the Belgian flag has an aspect ratio of 13:15 (1.154) and is therefore more square than it is to the Twemoji ratio. Therefore it would be more accurate to also display this flag as more square.
The updated version has been edited through text editor to preserve the original code, but with new values. The flag is made narrower to closer resemble the aspect ratio of the official Belgian flag, but not as narrow as the Swiss flag.
