Windmill Fans has been handcrafting designer fans in Varanasi since 1947 — a brand story as compelling as the products themselves. When they approached us to redesign their digital presence, the mandate was clear: create a website that feels as premium and artisanal as the fans themselves, while also functioning as a strong commercial platform for both retail customers and high-end specification projects (luxury hotels, resorts, villas, architects).
The discovery phase revealed two very different audiences: homeowners seeking a distinctive, statement fan for their interiors, and interior designers and hospitality project managers sourcing fans for large-scale installations. We designed a dual-layered site experience — a visually immersive front-end for consumers, and a comprehensive specification and project portfolio section for trade professionals.
Design-wise, we leaned into the brand's aviation heritage and craft legacy. A dark, editorial colour palette with high-contrast product photography was chosen to make the fans — inspired by aircraft propellers — feel like objects of desire. Each product page communicates not just specs but character: the feel of solid teak blades, the precision of cast aluminium motor housings, the story behind models like the "Heritage 1910" or "Spitfire."
The product catalog was built with a custom WordPress + WooCommerce architecture, featuring category pages for Ceiling Fans (grouped by type: modern, classic, hugger, double-height, small rooms), Wall Fans, and Pedestal Fans — each with a featured product carousel. A detailed specification section for trade users covers motor data, sweep sizes, blade materials, and finish options, with downloadable product data sheets.

Performance-wise, the site is built with lazy-loaded full-screen imagery, Cloudflare CDN integration, and a lightweight theme structure to ensure fast load times despite the rich visual content. The result is a website that has measurably increased both direct consumer sales and inbound project inquiries from architects and hospitality groups.

We design and developed a Premium Shopify e-commerce store for a French floral décor brand (dried bouquets, pampas, vases). Collection-based navigation, pre-order management, newsletter, multi-currency and multi-payment (Klarna, PayPal, Apple Pay). Designed to convert a demanding French customer base.
