⚡ "Branchless = Priceless: The Invisible Edge in C++ for HFT" ⚙️ In high-frequency trading, latency isn't just about fast code—it's about predictable code. 💡 One of the most underused HFT tricks? ➡️ Eliminate unpredictable branches using branchless programming. Why? Modern CPUs mispredict branches ~5–20% of the time. At HFT speeds, that’s catastrophic. ✅ Instead of: if (price > threshold) { execute_trade(); } Use: bool do_trade = price > threshold; do_trade &= some_other_condition; execute_trade_masked(do_trade); // no branch Or even better, rewrite entire decision trees into lookup tables or SIMD-compatible operations. 📌 Combine with: __builtin_expect to guide hot/cold paths Bitmasking & inline assembly to avoid pipeline stalls Loop unrolling and instruction prefetching to fully utilize CPU execution ports 📉 In real-world latency tests, avoiding unpredictable branches shaved off 30–80 nanoseconds per decision loop. That’s often the difference between being first or being too late. 🧠 Branchless logic = deterministic latency. "Leading Bitcoin mining ASIC manufacturer Bitmain is set to open its first US-based production facility by early 2026 amid a broader industry shift to the US. The world’s top Bitcoin mining application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) manufacturer, Bitmain, is reportedly on the verge of opening its first US-based manufacturing plant. According to a Tuesday Bloomberg report, Bitmain plans to open its first US-based ASIC manufacturing facility in the coming months. The company also reportedly plans to open a new headquarters in Texas or Florida by the end of the third quarter of 2025. Irene Gao, Bitmain’s global business chief, told Bloomberg that chip production is expected to begin in early 2026, with full-scale manufacturing anticipated by the end of that year. She said the move is intended to accelerate delivery and repair times for US-based customers."... David Birch lays out an excellent summary of the current solution and regulatory status for stable coins. I always value his research to enhance my knowledge and understanding. I thoroughly recommend his books. The challenge for stable coins, however, is that the blockchains they are recorded on are not financial ledgers and cannot record payables and receivables - critical for any form of financing. Stable coins are digital travelers checks or digital debit cards for the less aged among us.
