The UK is a hub for innovation in fintech, and this week, our teams were at the centre of the conversation across major industry events. Yesterday, Engine by Starling’s Client Success Director, Mariam Adeola Ogunbambi, joined Grow London’s Fintech Club meetup to discuss ‘Lessons from the Hyperscalers’. Mariam was joined on a panel by Conrad Ford, Chief Product & Strategy Officer at Allica Bank and Eugénie Colonna d'Istria, Investment Manager at Finch Capital. Moderated by Janet Coyle CBE, Managing Director, London & Partners, the panel delved deep into the strategies that allow fintechs to scale at speed without losing their edge. Engine also joined Starling at the Innovate Finance Global Summit, where our teams had the opportunity to discuss the future of fintech innovation in the UK and beyond with industry leaders. Starling’s Group CIO, Harriet Rees, discussed how top-tier fintechs are balancing a culture of rapid experimentation with robust risk management. Declan Ferguson, Starling’s Group CFO, joined Louise Smith OBE to explore the roadmap for exporting UK fintech excellence to unlock international growth opportunities. Our clients are innovators, and they are redefining banking on a global stage 🌎 Last week, Salt Bank launched diaspora accounts designed for Romanians living abroad who want to maintain a link with home. Romanians residing in Italy, Spain, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, Belgium, Ireland and Portugal now have the opportunity to open a main Salt Bank account in Euros, and a secondary account in Romanian Lei, to make paying bills or transferring money back home seamless.
