Tuesday, 4 March 2025, Barcelona – In the ever-evolving world of logistics and industrial asset management, maintaining visibility over moving goods is essential. The DIS-Echo by Dutch IoT Solutions is designed to address this need by combining high-frequency beaconing with Sigfox 0G connectivity, ensuring that assets remain traceable no matter where they go. This cost-efficient and scalable solution enables businesses to track their valuable assets seamlessly whether within their own facilities or across vast supply chains.

Imagine a large warehouse buzzing with activity, or a cross-dock center where goods are constantly on the move. In these owned sites, the DIS-Echo relies on beaconing as its primary method of connectivity. Every few minutes, the device emits a beacon signal, detectable within 100 to 1500 meters, as long as a base station is nearby. This high-frequency signal allows for precise, real-time location tracking without the need for external networks. This beacon technology, in contradiction to Bluetooth beacons, is fully optimized for penetrating waterholding goods and steel racking systems. Thanks to advanced interference optimization, it ensures a high beacon-to-basestation ratio, allowing for the tracking of all your assets with a minimal number of required base stations, significantly enhancing both efficiency and cost savings.

Beaconing not only enhances positioning accuracy but also ensures low-power operation, which ensures 10 years of lifetime on the beacon, extending the device’s lifespan while delivering continuous updates. Whether it’s in a warehouse, factory, or logistics hub, the DIS-Echo offers an effortless and future-proof tracking solution.

But what happens when assets move beyond the reach of owned infrastructure? As soon as the DIS-Echo leaves an enabled zone, it automatically switches to Sigfox 0G (class 0) connectivity. Without requiring additional setup, the device continues to transmit location and temperature data two times a day, ensuring that assets remain visible even during transport, in remote industrial sites, or in warehouses without beaconing capabilities.

For businesses requiring more frequent updates, the transmission interval can be adjusted, offering flexibility based on tracking needs. Sigfox 0G serves as a low-power network, keeping costs manageable while ensuring connectivity, an essential feature for logistics companies operating across borders.

A Durable Solution for Any Environment

Built for longevity, the DIS-Echo is engineered to withstand extreme environments. Whether exposed to dust, water, or impact, its IP66+IP67 and IK8 ratings guarantee reliability in even the toughest conditions. With a compact size of 102mm x 35,5mm x 15mm, it integrates effortlessly into any asset tracking setup, making it an ideal solution for supply chains, logistics, and industrial monitoring. For businesses requiring more frequent updates, the transmission interval can be adjusted, offering flexibility based on tracking needs. Sigfox 0G serves as a low-power network, keeping costs manageable while ensuring connectivity, an essential feature for logistics companies operating across borders.

Dutch IoT Solutions on the Future of Asset Tracking

“With the DIS-Echo, we are introducing a new level of efficiency and scalability to asset tracking,” said Stefan Maas, Sales Manager at Dutch IoT Solutions. “By prioritizing beaconing on owned sites and seamlessly switching to conditional connectivity beyond those locations, businesses can track their assets with unparalleled precision. Friday, 27 September 2024, Japan Tokyo Stock Exchange, Inc. (TSE) announced the launch of the TSE Asia Startup Hub on March 25, 2024

The TSE Asia Startup Hub aims to create an ecosystem that fosters startup growth, focusing on promising Asian companies with ties to Japan, to support business expansion in Japan and partnerships with Japanese firms. This will in turn support IPOs on TSE as one of the outcomes.

Since the announcement of this initiative, it has highly resonated with the value of this initiative with a wide range of stakeholders, including securities companies, audit firms, banks, law firms, media organizations , and venture capitalists. With 52 organizations from Japan and overseas signing up as partners and four as observers, we have established a comprehensive support system for Asian companies.

In this context, today we have selected 14 companies, including a so-called unicorn, from six countries/regions (Singapore, Taiwan, Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Vietnam) as companies to be supported (the “Supported Companies”), as shown in the table below. These companies belong to promising industries such as drones, healthcare, AI, IoT, SaaS, fintech, inbound tourism, and content provision, and aim to grow their businesses through expanding dealings with Japanese customers.

Going forward, TSE, together with our partners, will provide support tailored to the needs of the Supported Companies, including business and fundraising assistance in Japan as well as IPO support.

    Notes:

    1. The publication of the TSE Asia Startup Hub Supported Companies (the Supported Companies ””) is not intended to solicit investment in or recommend transactions with the Supported Companies, nor is it a guarantee or approval of the future listing of the Supported Companies on the TSE market , or any matters, including the products and services provided by the Supported Companies.
    2. TSE plans to carry out a periodic review of the Supported Companies annually.

Tuesday, 24 September 2024, France – Rémi François, Managing Director of UnaBiz Europe, joined François Sorel on BFM Business TV’s Tech & Co. to discuss the resurgence of Sigfox 0G technology, a pioneer in IoT connectivity. Once hailed as a standout of French technology, the Sigfox 0G technology faced significant challenges two years ago, but has been since acquired and revitalized under the leadership of UnaBiz.

Rémi François explained, “We took over the assets under the receivership process, which now form the UnaBiz Europe subsidiary. We continue to manage all of Sigfox 0G technology’s activities.”

Continued Innovation in IoT in France and Beyond
UnaBiz France continues to operate in Labège, near Toulouse, where a dedicated team of around 100 engineers focuses on enhancing the network that operates in over 70 countries. The technology enables low-cost, energy-efficient data transmission through simple sensors, which is ideal for a variety of applications.

François elaborated, “These sensors can send just a few bytes of data—typically 12 bytes—covering use cases like geographic tracking in logistics or monitoring gas and water consumption.”

    Addressing Competition: Sigfox 0G technology’s Cost-Effectiveness & Energy Efficiency
Many people like to compare the success of Sigfox with LoRa and NB-IoT, but François believes such comparisons are pointless. “Each technology has its strengths,” he stated, emphasizing that there is ample room for diverse solutions in the market while highlighting Sigfox 0G technology’s cost-effectiveness and energy efficiency. Since UnaBiz’s acquisition, the number of connected devices on the network has risen from 9 million to 14 million, demonstrating strong, consistent growth and a renewed interest from loyal customers.

Key Applications and Future Goals in 4 Key Verticals
UnaBiz now focuses on 4 verticals: Utilities, Supply Chain & Logistics, Security, and Facilities & Building Management. In Supply Chain & Logistics, Sigfox 0G technology is vital in tracking millions of assets, helping companies optimize their supply chains effectively. François remarked on the technology’s ability to function indoors, which is especially beneficial in warehouse environments.

In the Security sector, Sigfox 0G technology strengthens alarm systems by ensuring messages can be transmitted even when traditional networks are down. “We have several million alarms deployed across Europe with this capability,” he shared.

Looking to the future, François discussed potential applications in mobility, including vehicle tracking and recovery solutions.

    Conclusion
Sigfox’s transformation from a struggling tech giant to a revitalized player in the IoT landscape illustrates the resilience and adaptability of innovative technology. With its focus on simplicity, energy efficiency, and cost-effectiveness, Sigfox 0G technology is poised for a bright future in a rapidly evolving digital world.
