I am a PhD student in Computer Science at Georgia State University. My research spans AI for Online Safety, Usable Security, and Computational Social Science. I focus on (i) leveraging AI methods to detect, uncover, and mitigate harmful social media content (e.g., misinformation, illicit services, and yellow journalism) to promote transparency and protect users, and (ii) discovering and analyzing implicit illicit content to understand how it surfaces in public discourse and shapes real-world dynamics.
Prior to joining GSU, I spent wonderful time as an islander (제주도민) on Jeju Island, where I worked as an AI specialist, developing data and machine learning pipelines for smart aquaculture. I hold a Master’s degree in Applied AI from Hanyang University, South Korea, and a Bachelor’s degree in Software Science from Dankook University, South Korea. During my Master’s, I had an eye-opening and inspiring summer at the University of Warwick, UK, leveraging data science for social good.
