The AI for Change Hackathon is calling all tech visionaries, design thinkers, and passionate changemakers to tackle today's most pressing challenges with the power of Artificial Intelligence. Forget building the next viral app – think groundbreaking solutions for environmental sustainability, social justice, healthcare access, and more.
YOUR MISSION:
Develop a proof-of-concept prototype utilizing AI that addresses one of the challenges we've outlined. Think outside the box. We're mainly looking for innovative and impactful solutions!
CHALLENGE AREAS
- Ocean Conservation: Design an AI-powered solution to combat plastic pollution or restore ocean health.
- Climate Sustainability: Develop a solution using AI that optimizes renewable energy, promotes sustainable practices, or mitigates climate change effects.
- Social Equality: Using AI, develop a platform that addresses issues like access to education, healthcare, or economic opportunities.
We welcome original ideas! If your challenge area isn't listed, propose one that aligns with the hackathon's spirit of social impact and AI integration.
WHAT TO BUILD
- Software applications: Develop AI-powered apps for data analysis, resource management, or community engagement.
- Hardware integrations: Design AI-enabled robots, sensors, or interactive devices to tackle the chosen challenge.
- Creative hybrids: Get creative! Combine software, hardware, and design thinking to create innovative solutions that defy convention.

Requirements
WHAT YOU WILL SUBMIT:
- A clear and concise description of your AI-powered solution: Explain its purpose, functionalities, and impact potential.
- A functional prototype: This can be a working software application, a hardware mockup, or a well-developed concept with visualizations. This may be submitted in either a pdf, zip, or word doc file.
- A compelling presentation: Showcase your solution in a 2-3 minute video that strongly highlights your team's solution and it's impact.
Video Requirements:
- Your team name
- Challenge you're responding to
- How your project addresses the challenge
- Technologies used (APIs, hardware, languages, LLMs, platforms, etc.)
- What you have learned over the course of the hackathon
- Anything else important or noteworthy about your project

Creativity (30%)
Our judges are looking for groundbreaking ideas that redefine what's 'possible' with AI. How creatively does your solution approach the challenge? Does it offer fresh insights or inventive approaches? -
Wow Factor (30%)
Our judges need to be impressed by the ingenuity and potential impact of your solution. Does your project have that "wow" factor that sets it apart from the rest? Has it left a lasting impression on the judges? -
Execution (10%)
How well does the prototype function? Is it polished and refined, demonstrating careful execution? We're looking for projects that not only have great and unique ideas but also execute them effectively. -
Presentation (10%)
How effectively do you convey your solution's purpose, functionalities, and impact potential in the 2-3 minute video your team submitted? Is your presentation clear, engaging, and persuasive? -
Project Impact (20%)
Real-world relevance matters. How impactful is your solution in addressing the chosen challenge? Does it have the potential to make a meaningful difference if carried through?
