AIBrain offered Turing AI School program for the 3rd time in December, 2019 for a dedicated Middle and High school students on practical AI Learning and Uses. This is a classroom based AI curriculum introducing in a practical way the disruptive technologies emanating from AI field. The general introduction to AI accompanied by hands-on experience exercises give learners a better understanding of what the future holds in terms of convenient living and career choices in AI.

The course covers cognitive systems, machine learning and robotics. The current state-of-the-art technologies are discussed in the context of Game AI, Music AI, Robotics, Conversational AI, and AI in general mobile applications. The best thing is that there is no prerequisite for taking the sessions except a good command of the language of instruction and the willingness to listen, learn and explore.

This was the third time DAIS students were taking this class with significant increase in the number of participants.

Turing AI School 4.1 with Dalian American International School, China

AIBrain conducted another TAIS program this time with high-schoolers, for a longer period and delve deeper into the practical application of Artificial Intelligence in various fields.

The workshop that lasted for 4 days covered topics from Introduction to AI with practical use cases, to building robots by students who this time had more female students attending and taking the lead. The application of Ai in music, natural language understanding including sentence emotion recognition, game AI and introduction to networked devices in an IoT environment through iRSP were experienced.

TAIS aims to not only teach but mentor and let participants have real hands-on-practice with AI technologies and take away tangible skills that can be explored to build interest and future careers to them. The program is offered offline in schools or small groups and will soon be be launched online through some of the popular learning management system platforms.

Turing AI School Program

The Turing AI School Program (TAIS) is conducted by AIBrain Inc. to introduce students of the younger ages to Artificial Intelligence technologies and its use in the society and encourage them in their pursuit of AI projects. AI and its associated technologies is on the fore-front of revolutionizing the way we think and relate with the machines around us.

Artificial intelligence is simply defined as ‘making machines/systems that can mimic the way human beings think and act naturally’. The process is very innate in human beings which makes it very difficult for machines to compete and compare. Artificial Intelligence can be categorized into Narrow, General and Superintelligence and science has made significant breakthroughs in research and development in the AI systems to achieve these levels of intelligence. Narrow intelligence, also called weak intelligence, specializes in one domain and AI can execute tasks in this area with superhuman ability. Artificial General Intelligence is the strong AI or the human level AI displayed by smart machines. This has not been achieved wholly as per the definition of true intelligence, which involves the ability to reason, plan, solve problems, think abstractly, comprehend complex ideas, learn quickly, and learn from experience.

The success of AI machines has been piece-wise. Some machines can display these qualities in parts. Whereas machines can seem to compute mathematical problems at lightning speed, they can    be very slow at learning new concepts.

IBM’s Watson playing Jeopardy, Google’s Alpha Go and AlphaZero are just but few examples of how computers can compete with the human intelligence at very specific tasks and even be better. The challenge is to extend this to general problems.

We interact with AI systems in our everyday life – systems that can see, understand everyday speech, give recommendations, and even converse with people. These systems are actually constructed by integrating a number of techniques including machine vision, speech recognition, natural language recognition, machine learning, and planning. This is called the integrative AI, the sole effort of making machines have the ability to be branded intelligent systems.

TAIS is seeking to provide students with practical examples, a hands-on experience in solving day-to-day AI challenges. Both in our online and offline programs, we present the opportunity for them to make their own judgment on what intelligence is and whether not machines are intelligent.

We derive our lessons from the current industry challenges, the big issues that all the giants in the AI race are trying to address. This is how we come to concentrate on Robotics AI, Game AI, Music AI, and Sports as they form the core interests of people of all ages. Working together with leading lights in this industry like Steve Omohundro, Ph.D, our own team of AI Scientists, and other well-  established education institutions, we strive to produce a curriculum that can bring transformation to our learners in a fun but effective way.

In one of our past workshops with students from the Dalian American School, China, TAIS delivered a 3-day comprehensive program that taught them how machines process natural language, recognize emotions from sentences, how non-player-characters in a game environment can be modeled to be fully autonomous, how AI can be used in creating your own music, how to program robots from your own PC and App integration, and how robots work in relation to human senses up to the actual movements of robots.

The Python programming language, the de-facto standard of the machine learning world, was also introduced to help beginners have an idea of what goes on behind the scenes.

” AIBrain Expanding A.I. School Program into China” 

Dalian American international School

[September 6~8. 2018]

AIBrain officially extended its program of AI for Mankind at Dalian American international School in Dalian, China on September 6th through the 8th 2018. A 2-day teaching program was offered to teachers as well as a half-day workshop for the students on the topic Learning AI Toys with hands-on-experience exercises. This was accompanied by gameplay with AIBrain’s flagship consumer toy robot, Tyche. Tyche, a product is an AI robot which offers assistance, companionship, and entertainment to robot aficionados. This little robot displays cognitive, emotional, and social intelligence that significantly contributes to a child’s brain development during learning and playing.

The many aspects of general intelligence can be performed by Tyche including learning, memory, and problem solving implemented through the AI technologies. The aim of the classes and workshops is to demystify AI fears and bring to light the many advantages that such machines have contributed to the good and convenience of mankind.

“We appreciate the lectures and the do-it-yourself style of content delivery we received,” said one of the teachers at Dalian. The students had a tremendous amount of process improvement during the games and felt that more A.I. knowledge can be developed in a fun and easy way. The workshop was attended by some 25 students, their special program teachers, and parents.

AIBrain Shows AI Can Also Be Creative Art

August 30, 2018 – Palo Alto, CA, USA – AIBrain participated in this year’s Palo Alto Festival of the Arts in downtown Palo Alto on University Ave. The company exhibited Fiona (Humanoid Robot, Tyche (AI Toy for Kids), and AI Music in showcasing how AI can enhance the artistic creativity of the human mind.

AIBrain, Inc. today announced the opening of its new offices in Berlin, Germany to open its European market.  AIBrian AG will be the main sales, marketing, and R&D office for EMEA.
