That pick-6 by Bush was great but the thing that impressed me the most was Myles Garrett running even faster to make the block 90 yards down the field. It reminded me of a Hester return against Arizona in the Dennis Green “the Bears are who we thought” game, when Brian Urlacher ran side by side with Hester all the way down the field. Seems like there is a common theme with All Time Greats.

Agree with you. I’ve been beating the drum for Mike Washington in the mid rounds, if he’s available since before the Senior Bowl. I would like to see the Bears with a bigger back and after his 4.3 time at the combine, he would also be the fastest back in the room. Unfortunately, that performance at the combine and at the Senior Bowl might raise him up for a lot of teams and I don’t see Poles using a second round pick on a RB.

As exciting as last year’s off-season acquisitions were, it really hurts when they don’t pan out. I don’t think Dayo will be full strength until the second half of the season, at the earliest; and Grady Jarrett is on the wrong side of 30 to be counted on for much more than rotational help. They had to let guys like Byard go to meet cap constraints. To paraphrase Ditka, “the past is for cowards and losers”. Keeping guys on your roster because of how much fun the 2025 season was is a good way to sell jerseys, but isn’t the best way to maintain a competitive roster.

I like the idea of DT and then either Edge/S or S/Edge with first three picks, based on early mocks. I think a late off-season signing of a vet TE makes sense, but what about a third round RB like Mike Washington, Jr.? Swift and Monangai are more change-of-pace guys, IMO and I believe a strong running game is still the best way to open up the passing game and protect the defense.

Comment on ‘The right fit’: Why the Bears should be optimistic about center Garrett Bradbury’s pairing with QB Caleb Williams by bear with me https://allchgo.com/why-bears-optimistic-garrett-bradbury-caleb-williams/#comment-3797 Mon, 16 Mar 2026 12:20:17 +0000 https://allchgo.com/?p=141332#comment-3797 Really great work by Poles to find a guy like this on very short notice. He has familiarity with the division and his left guard, he’s experienced and has had consistent success in the pros and he’s affordable. He may be no better than league average, but comapred to the years of misery we’ve had at the position, it’s a huge win.

Thank you for the piece, Jahns!

That has been a common theme since Poles has been here, high character guys who are good communicators and seem to love football and don’t seem to be “me first” kind of attitudes. Chase Claypool notwithstanding…

Really a great write up, Adam, thanks!

I wasn’t negative about it, but now I’m excited. This guy’s a winner especially for QB’s

Comment on Is the time now right for the Bears to go after Maxx Crosby? by Bob A https://allchgo.com/is-time-now-right-for-bears-to-go-after-maxx-crosby/#comment-3794 Thu, 12 Mar 2026 13:00:31 +0000 https://allchgo.com/?p=141287#comment-3794 I say “no”. If you think about it, when has any team that makes a huge trade or FA signing won a championship because of it? The closest I can come up with is Brady in Tampa for one season and no matter the hype, Crosby will not have the same effect that the GOAT QB had on that team. Outside of that, the money that you tie up for that one player over the next few years leaves a lot of other holes in your roster. The Bears were very close last season but this year’s roster will be entirely different, it will not be just adding Crosby to what we had last season. Until teams can build a solid roster, you don’t win championships. This isn’t just about the draft capital you’d have to give up, it’s more importantly about what it does to your salary cap for the next couple of years and not being able to fill holes that will inevitably come up.
Think of this, and I know the salary cap stuff is different now but for those who have been around long enough, we had the greatest player in NFL history, in my opinion for years and couldn’t win anything because we didn’t have the right team around him. Walter Payton didn’t win a championship until Jim Finks came in and put together the best roster possible. Solid “NO” for me on Crosby.

This is the 1st year the cap has been tight, but it’s not even impossibly tight.
