The global conversation on integrity in carbon markets is accelerating.
As governments, businesses, and verifiers work to strengthen confidence in carbon credits, new frameworks are emerging to bring greater alignment and clarity.
Among them, the Symbiosis Quality Pillars provide a practical guide to ensure that carbon projects are developed responsibly, transparently, and with verifiable results.

For ALLCOT – A Karbon-X Company, these principles don’t represent change; they represent recognition. For more than 15 years, we’ve applied rigorous technical standards across our nature-based portfolio, ensuring integrity from measurement to measurable community impact.

From mangrove restoration in Senegal to large-scale reforestation and community development programs, our work demonstrates that quality is built through science, collaboration, and permanence.

The Symbiosis Quality Pillars in Practice

1. Conservative Accounting

Integrity begins with precision.

ALLCOT applies conservative methodologies to ensure prudent and verifiable estimates of carbon benefits. Each project starts with rigorous baselines, independent audits, and third-party verification, avoiding overestimation and ensuring that every credit represents solid, reproducible results.

2. Durability

Real impact endures over time.

ALLCOT designs every project with robust legal frameworks, local participation, and adaptive management systems that ensure long-term continuity.
Our goal is to make sure that emission reductions and environmental benefits continue to create value decades after project implementation.

3. Social and Community Benefits

A carbon project is only sustainable if it supports human development.
ALLCOT projects create local employment, strengthen rural economies, and include participatory governance with local and Indigenous communities.
Each initiative is built on a shared-value model, where communities are not just beneficiaries, they are active partners in climate action.

4. Transparency

Trust is built through openness.
ALLCOT publishes methodologies, results, and audit outcomes openly, with every project independently verified. Transparency and traceability are at the heart of our approach: impact must be measurable, demonstrable, and communicated with accuracy.

5. Ecological Integrity

Science guides every decision.

ALLCOT develops projects that restore complete ecosystems, strengthen biodiversity, and enhance soil and water resilience.
Every intervention follows strict ecological criteria to ensure that carbon capture is accompanied by real, lasting environmental benefits.

Why It Matters

The Symbiosis Quality Pillars represent a key consensus: integrity must be built through science and practical implementation. For ALLCOT, that philosophy defines who we are.

We don’t follow standards, we apply them, refine them, and turn them into real-world results.

Looking Ahead

As part of the Karbon-X ecosystem, ALLCOT – A Karbon-X Company will continue advancing nature-based solutions that meet, and exceed, emerging quality benchmarks, from the Symbiosis Quality Pillars to the Core Carbon Principles of the Integrity Council.

Our commitment is to turn principles into action and scientific evidence into measurable results for people, communities, and ecosystems.

New phase of the Sur del Meta Project expands carbon and biodiversity monitoring while strengthening local governance and livelihoods.

CALGARY, AB / ACCESS Newswire / November 19, 2025 / In the heart of Colombia’s Meta department, where forests and farmlands converge, Karbon-X Corp. (OTCQX:KARX) (“Karbon-X” or the “Company”) is deepening its commitment to people-powered climate solutions through the REDD+ Sur del Meta Project – a long-term conservation initiative that protects 40,637 hectares of natural forest while supporting sustainable livelihoods for nearly 1,000 local families.

Developed through ALLCOT – A Karbon-X Company, the project development and advisory arm of Karbon-X, the initiative operates across the municipalities of Vistahermosa, Puerto Rico, Puerto Concordia, and Puerto Lleras, a region historically affected by deforestation and armed conflict.

The project partners with local farmers, many of whom are victims of Colombia’s armed conflict, helping them transition from cattle ranching and forest clearing toward sustainable livelihoods rooted in climate-smart cacao, coffee, and citrus production. Through technical training, biodiversity protection, and equitable governance, the project transforms both landscapes and lives.

“Sur del Meta shows what climate action looks like when people and nature move in the same direction,” said Alexis Leroy, Chief Sustainability Investment Officer at Karbon-X. “By restoring degraded lands and strengthening community livelihoods, we’re turning reforestation into a pathway for resilience, dignity, and shared prosperity.”

The project is now entering a new phase focused on measuring and deepening impact. Over the next four months, teams will be in the field expanding carbon and biodiversity monitoring, with more than 100 permanent plots already established to track forest growth and health. New camera traps are also being installed to document the region’s recovering wildlife, from birds to endangered species such as the giant otter.

At the same time, work is underway to create community-led governance corporations, a key step that ensures local stakeholders shape how the project is managed and how its benefits are shared for years to come.

Verified under recognized international standards, the Sur del Meta Project is achieving measurable emissions reductions, more than 3.7 million tonnes of CO₂e expected to be avoided over its lifetime. Beyond the numbers, it advances key global goals for equality, economic opportunity, and climate action, proving that restoration and resilience go hand in hand.

Through this initiative, Karbon-X and its project development and advisory arm, ALLCOT – A Karbon-X Company, reaffirm their shared mission to make climate action real, trusted, and transformative – strengthening ecosystems, restoring livelihoods, and building a resilient future for Colombia.

New initiative in the Konkouré Delta builds on Senegal’s success, advancing coastal restoration, biodiversity, and community resilience across West Africa.

CONAKRY, GN / ACCESS Newswire / November 7, 2025 / Building on the success of its 7,000-hectare mangrove reforestation project in Senegal-which has already generated an estimated 2.8 million tonnes of CO₂ reductions and measurable community benefits-Karbon-X Corp. (OTCQX:KARX) (“Karbon-X” or the “Company”) is expanding its blue carbon leadership into the Konkouré Delta of Guinea, as blue carbon emerges as a critical frontier for climate investment and coastal resilience.

Developed through ALLCOT – A Karbon-X Company, the project development and advisory arm of Karbon-X, the initiative will replicate and scale the proven model from Senegal, enhancing biodiversity, shoreline protection, and sustainable livelihoods across West Africa.

Mangroves are more than trees; they are natural shields protecting coastlines, nurseries for marine life, and vital sources of income for coastal families. Restoring them means restoring balance, security, and opportunity for communities that depend on the sea.

To prepare for implementation, Karbon-X’s project development arm, ALLCOT, has led regional technical missions and training sessions in Guinea, uniting forestry and climate agencies to exchange best practices and strengthen local capacity for blue carbon development. Field visits to the Gandoul Marine Protected Area offered hands-on experience, from propagule collection to carbon monitoring, bridging knowledge and practice under a shared vision of sustainability.

“Our work in Guinea builds on years of collaboration with local governments and communities,” said Alexis Leroy, Chief Sustainability Investment Officer at Karbon-X. “We’re deeply rooted in this region-understanding the drivers of deforestation, building local capacity, and ensuring continuity so that restoration efforts deliver lasting social and environmental impact.”

Through this initiative, Karbon-X and its project development arm, ALLCOT – A Karbon-X Company, reaffirm their mission to turn climate ambition into measurable, lasting impact-accelerating the growth of the blue economy and shaping a more resilient future for the region.

DAKAR, SN / ACCESS Newswire / October 28, 2025 / Karbon-X Corp. (OTCQX:KARX) (“Karbon-X” or the “Company”) is proud to announce a significant milestone in its ABC Mangrove Project, one of West Africa’s largest community-led restoration initiatives with the successful completion of planting across more than 7,000 hectares of mangroves along Senegal’s coastline.

Developed through ALLCOT, Karbon-X’s project development and advisory arm (ALLCOT-A Karbon-X Company), the project is helping restore critical blue-carbon ecosystems that protect biodiversity, strengthen local economies, and capture carbon naturally from the atmosphere.

Through this multi-year effort, thousands of local community members have been engaged in the planting and care of mangroves, creating new jobs, skills training, and sustainable income opportunities for women and youth in the region.

“This milestone represents environmental progress and proof that community-driven climate action creates measurable global impact,” said Chad Clovis, Chief Executive Officer of Karbon-X Corp. “The ABC Mangrove Project shows how collaboration between business and local communities can restore ecosystems, improve lives, and deliver real carbon removals that benefit both people and planet.”

The project is estimated to achieve 2,861,923 tonnes of CO₂ reductions over its lifetime an average of 71,548 tonnes per year through natural carbon sequestration, generating verified blue carbon credits that allow organizations and individuals to support meaningful, measurable climate impact.

The project contributes to several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including No Poverty (SDG 1), Climate Action (SDG 13), Life Below Water (SDG 14), and Life on Land (SDG 15) reflecting Karbon-X’s commitment to climate solutions rooted in people and progress.

This milestone marks another step in Karbon-X’s broader mission to make trusted climate action accessible, transparent, and locally empowering across the globe.

Written By Amalia Helen

Nature-based solutions are essential to solving the climate and biodiversity crises, but scaling them requires more than good intentions. It demands trust, transparency, and the right technology to back it all up. That’s where ALLCOT IO comes in.

Born from 15+ years of carbon market experience, ALLCOT IO is building open, AI-enhanced tools to support high-integrity, community-driven climate projects, from mangrove restoration in Senegal to ecosystem regeneration across Latin America and West Africa. Their platform, STRAATOS, brings real-time traceability and accountability to every stage of a project’s lifecycle, unlocking the scale, confidence, and impact nature-based solutions urgently need.

Q: Tell us a bit about ALLCOT IO and what you do

ALLCOT IO is building the digital rails for high-integrity carbon markets, with a strong focus on nature-based solutions. Our tools support project developers with traceability, data verification, and open APIs for seamless integration with registries and platforms.

Our platform, STRAATOS, is designed not only to empower project developers but also to improve transparency and accessibility for a wider range of stakeholders, including investors, verifiers (VVBs), standards bodies, and local communities. By making key project data visible, verifiable, and easy to interact with, we help build trust and alignment across the entire ecosystem.

We also leverage AI to streamline remote sensing and automate monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) processes in near real time. This enables greater scale, efficiency, and confidence in the environmental impact being generated, especially for nature-based projects that are often complex and data-intensive.

Q: What’s the story behind the organization?

ALLCOT IO was born out of the experience and lessons of over 15 years of climate market leadership through our parent organization, ALLCOT Group. As one of the earliest players in voluntary carbon markets, ALLCOT developed and financed dozens of projects across the globe, ranging from reforestation to clean energy—gaining a deep understanding of both the potential and the pain points of the carbon ecosystem.

ALLCOT IO emerged as a natural evolution: the recognition that technology must now lead the way if we want to scale climate action with equity, integrity, and trust. Our multidisciplinary team was built to bridge that gap.

The name ALLCOT IO pays tribute to our roots (ALLCOT) while signaling our future: “IO” stands for Input/Output, a nod to digital systems and our core values of transparency, interoperability, and accessibility.

“At the heart of our approach is our guiding philosophy: Cui Bono — “Whom it benefits?” Every tool, feature, and protocol we design is shaped by this question, with a commitment to prioritize the most vulnerable stakeholders, including local communities, Indigenous peoples, and project developers on the front lines of climate action.”

— ALLCOT IO

Q: What are the challenges ALLCOT IO seeks to solve? Why is it so important to scale carbon reduction programs in a way that also promotes environmental stewardship?

We serve project developers, local communities, government actors, and climate financiers. From their perspective, ALLCOT IO provides transparency, reduces transaction costs, and accelerates project deployment through digital trust mechanisms and data integrity.

We aim to tackle the deep-rooted inefficiencies and trust issues in carbon markets by building open, transparent digital infrastructure: Scaling carbon projects with real environmental stewardship means ensuring they are measurable, inclusive, and credible. Stewardship, to us, means centering nature and communities, not just carbon metrics. If we fail to act decisively, we risk undermining both climate targets and biodiversity thresholds.

The biggest barriers? Lack of trust, access to high-integrity tools, and slow-moving regulatory environments.

Q: Can you share a recent success story?

One of our most meaningful milestones is the ABC Mangrove Project in Senegal.

This was a flagship initiative that exemplifies what we mean by high-integrity, community-driven climate action. Not only is it among the first large-scale blue carbon projects in the region, but it also stands as a model of radical transparency, local participation, and tech-enabled accountability.

We spoke to the team about what environmental stewardship really means, why trust is the currency of climate action, and how their “Cui Bono” philosophy is reshaping the infrastructure of nature tech.

Through our STRAATOS platform, we have been able to digitally track every step of the project lifecycle, from the earliest stages of prospection and mapping, to community training sessions, plantation activities, and ongoing monitoring. Each intervention on the ground is registered and timestamped, enabling plot-level traceability and the generation of unique QR codes that link directly to field data and photographic evidence.

This level of transparency is not only beneficial to project developers, it also enhances confidence for investors, ease of verification for VVBs and standards, and creates new channels for community visibility and ownership.

How do you currently see the direction of travel in terms of the area you operate in? Do you think awareness of challenges and solutions is growing? How does regulation play a role here?

The shift toward biodiversity and social co-benefits is accelerating, and rightly so. There’s growing recognition that environmental markets must go beyond carbon. However, regulatory clarity is still lagging in many jurisdictions. At ALLCOT IO, we advocate for policy frameworks that empower local actors and reward integrity through digital proof of impact.

We see ourselves at the intersection of climate tech and nature tech. By developing digital tools to monitor, report, and verify natural capital projects, we’re helping to define the infrastructure layer of nature tech. This category is critical to scaling the impact of decentralized, locally owned environmental solutions.

We were drawn to the Nature Tech Collective by its commitment to spotlighting mission-aligned innovators. It’s refreshing to be part of a community that values both technical excellence and systems change.

Q: And where is ALLCOT IO going next? What are you working on at the moment?

We are focused on expanding our open-source tools across West Africa and Latin America, with a priority on nature-based solutions. Africa is one of the regions with the greatest potential to lead nature-based climate solutions. However, its participation in global climate finance mechanisms remains limited. During the recent West Africa Carbon Market Forum, held in Senegal, institutional, technical, and community leaders shared their perspectives on the continent’s challenges and opportunities in carbon markets.

Key figures to understand the context

Despite the commitment of many African countries through their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), participation in international mechanisms remains low:

  • Africa has registered only 5% of projects under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM).
  • It accounts for just 1% of global carbon credits issued.

These figures point to structural barriers such as:

📉 Delays in establishing appropriate institutional frameworks
📉 Gaps in technical and financial knowledge
📉 Limited access and effective participation in carbon markets

Toward a fairer carbon market

The forum highlighted the need to strengthen capacities, harmonize subregional efforts, and set clear rules to enable more active and beneficial participation for Africa. The continent is home to vast natural and cultural wealth, along with communities already implementing effective climate mitigation and adaptation practices.

To make carbon markets truly effective, they must be built on:

✅ High integrity standards
✅ Fair pricing mechanisms
✅ Inclusive participation from all actors, including the private sector and civil society

ALLCOT’s participation

ALLCOT took part in this edition of the forum through several of its collaborators, reaffirming our commitment to a carbon market that delivers measurable climate results and tangible social impact. We support solutions built from the ground up—strengthening local capacities and channeling finance toward sustainable and scalable initiatives.

WASHINGTON – May 28, 2025 | Verra has announced a new, long-term collaboration with the Hedera Foundation (external) to accelerate the development of next-generation digital tools to enhance the transparency, auditability, and integrity of methodologies and monitoring systems in the carbon markets. This collaboration marks a major milestone in the digital evolution of these markets.

Verra is the first standards body in the global carbon market to integrate with Hedera Guardian, a leading open-source platform powering the digital economy, which is funded by the Hedera Foundation. The integration will enable faster, more automated project processes and lay the foundation for a more scalable, high-integrity carbon market built on trust and transparency.

“This collaboration represents a significant advancement in Verra’s digitalization strategy, enhancing our ability to deliver more efficient, transparent, and scalable climate action. Integrating Hedera Guardian with the Verra Project Hub represents a meaningful step toward improving the way we serve our stakeholders. I am also excited that the ALLCOT ABC Mangrove Restoration Project is with us on this integration: an important nature-based solution rooted in Africa, a region that is critical to the future of climate finance and climate leadership.”

Mandy Rambharos, CEO, Verra

The Hedera Guardian integrates directly with the Verra Project Hub, the standard setter’s online platform that supports streamlined project development, registration, and review processes and that feeds directly into the Verra Registry. This integration offers the following benefits:

  • Allows project developers to access updated digitalized methodology information for optimal predictability from project registration to credit issuance;
  • Enables users to easily manage projects that use digitalized methodologies with additional digital tools that streamline workflows and surface key insights;
  • Streamlines processes for users to search, analyze, and apply data, while respecting the confidentiality of project proponent submission; and
  • Houses a digital-first user experience to enable the easy integration of all project-related processes, including digital monitoring, reporting, and verification (dMRV), which will result in easily accessible data for faster turnarounds of reviews and requests, improving the overall client experience and expediting the issuance process.

The collaboration will also pave the way for open-source software contributors to lead the way in digitalizing additional methodologies, with financial incentives of up to $5,000 per methodology provided by the DLT Earth Bounty Program (external).

Overall, the collaboration will help create a more transparent, verifiable system of record that supports Verra’s broader effort to digitalize the project lifecycle for as many projects as possible. The effort is driven by Hedera’s open-source framework, which empowers the global carbon market community to innovate and scale climate solutions faster and more transparently than ever before.

The collaboration was announced at the site of the ALLCOT Blue Carbon (ABC) Mangrove Restoration Project in Senegal (Verra Project 4653), which is requesting registration with Verra’s VCS Program and its Climate, Community & Biodiversity Standards (CCBS) Program. The project uses the digitalized version of VM0033 Methodology for Tidal Wetland and Seagrass Restoration and will be the first project to benefit from the collaboration, which enabled the project to automate the creation and submission of its project design document.

A five-year capital investment from the Hedera Foundation will help to further accelerate Verra’s digitalization efforts, including a commitment to digitalize an additional 20 methodologies this year, helping to grow Hedera Guardian’s library of digitalized and open source methodologies.

“Verra is setting the standard for high-integrity systems and digital innovation in carbon markets and sustainable development. Its focus on streamlining issuance, facilitating transparency, and ensuring environmental integrity through open-source innovation and participation has enabled a new chapter in accessible integrity initiatives, making digital measurement, reporting, and verification (dMRV) scalable for every project and methodology.”

Wes Geisenberger, Vice President Sustainability and ESG, Hedera Foundation

“We are delighted to contribute to this collaboration by digitally submitting ALLCOT ABC Mangrove Senegal, one of our flagship projects, to the Verra Project Hub through Hedera Guardian. This collaboration between Verra and Hedera marks a transformative leap forward for the carbon market, empowering projects to ‘speak digitally’ and enabling stakeholders to gain faster access to transparent, interoperable data, which enhances trust and scales climate action. This is the beginning of a new era where boots on the ground efforts translate seamlessly into digital trust, speed, and global impact.”

Alexis Leroy, CEO, ALLCOT

  • This agreement will benefit residents of PDET municipalities such as Puerto Rico, Puerto Concordia, Vista Hermosa, and Puerto Lleras, in the southern region of the Meta department, who are working to protect 42,000 hectares of forest.
    • Bancamía’s role in this agreement focuses on promoting financial well-being for communities in this part of Meta by implementing financial inclusion and health processes.
    • Through the “Creciendo Juntos” (Growing Together) initiative, Bancamía will carry out training sessions to help families build their capacity to make sound financial decisions and move forward in the path toward financial inclusion.

Bogotá D.C., May 22, 2025. To link environmental conservation with economic development and financial inclusion, Bancamía, a member of the BBVA Microfinance Foundation, and the company ALLCOT have signed a collaboration agreement to support more than 900 families from PDET municipalities in the south of the Meta department through financial, economic, and environmental education.

This initiative will be carried out within the framework of the REDD+ Sur del Meta project, led by ALLCOT, which aims to halt deforestation in the region through productive projects, improving the quality of life for local communities, and conserving 42,000 hectares of forest with the potential to capture 259,937 tons of CO₂.

Bancamía’s role in this agreement, aligned with its sustainability strategy “El latido que nos sostiene” (“The heartbeat that sustains us”), focuses on promoting well-being for clients and communities in this part of Meta by implementing financial inclusion and health processes aligned with environmentally friendly alternatives that help residents adapt to and mitigate climate change.

This vision also seeks to contribute to social development, the protection of natural resources, and sustainable economic growth across Colombia. In addition, through the “Creciendo Juntos” initiative, Bancamía will conduct training sessions under this agreement to help families build financial awareness, plan their income, avoid over-indebtedness, and access financial products such as loans, savings, investment, and insurance that strengthen their productive activities and support their future.

Thanks to this agreement, the participating families will not only have access to tools to improve their financial management but will also strengthen their knowledge on sustainability, responsible use of natural resources, and the generation of sustainable income. This will allow them to turn their earnings into real opportunities for productive development, reducing economic dependency and promoting autonomy in decision-making.

In a second phase, the alliance will focus on facilitating access to productive credit, so families who completed financial education processes can implement agricultural and livestock activities in their productive units, increasing household income, investing in their businesses, and developing skills for responsible resource management, ecosystem conservation, and climate change mitigation.

“We know that financial knowledge is a powerful tool to transform lives. That’s why we work to ensure that people have clarity on managing their resources, build long-term well-being, and find in financial inclusion a path toward sustainable development. This alliance with ALLCOT allows us to expand that impact to communities also committed to forest protection and climate action,”
said Diana González, Vice President for Productive Client Development at Bancamía.

The agreement between Bancamía and ALLCOT, she added,

“becomes a benchmark for how collaborative work between the financial sector and environmental stakeholders can lead to deep, territory-based impact.”

For his part, Alexis L. Leroy, CEO and founder of ALLCOT, stated:

“This agreement proves that climate action is not only compatible with local economic development—it can be a driving force behind it. At ALLCOT, we firmly believe that protecting forests requires empowering the communities that safeguard them. This alliance with Bancamía, supported by CGAP, allows us to turn that vision into action, generating environmental, social, and financial value from the heart of the territory.”
