As someone who hates having to touch any kinds of oil, I hesitated to apply for this event. I was skeptical, yes, but I’ve been eager to go out of my comfort zone since day one. hey, there’s always a first time for everyone right? So I took the opportunity. This particular oil changed my view in using oils may it be a for the face, hair, body, etc. A real game changer.

✓ Has faint 𝘧𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘩 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘰𝘵 scent that’s almost unnoticeable. (I am most scentsitive when it comes to oils)
✓ The texture is just the same as our typical oil, but the consistency is quite runny/watery.
✓ Expected to feel the heaviness upon application, but no, it feels so light that I was literally smiling (I was just so amazed with my very first oil)
✓ It’s greasy for the first few minutes then after a while it’s as if I just applied a very light and watery serum.
✓ Does a great job in making my skin smooth overnight w/o that tight feeling.
𝑩𝒐𝒅𝒚: Mixed it with my favorite See Sea lotion and it’s indeed moisturizing.
𝑯𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒔: My method was just applying the oil onto dry hands. My hands are rough and super dry, this carrot oil just helps in moisturizing it and making the skin soft. As for resolving the rough issue, I think I need to do the “hand spa” thing.
𝑯𝒂𝒊𝒓: Swipe left to watch the vid and you’ll see how shiny my hair looks like, soft and untangled it is when I mixed the oil with my shampoo.
𝑳𝒊𝒑𝒔: Visibly removes dead skin cells from my lips while supplying moisture. Contributed to the reduction of dry patches from it.

I joined the community with full of insecurity, embarrassment, low self esteem and all things negative. And as I continue my journey with the community, I made friends, family even. SkinfluencersPH was formed last September 2019, it isn’t just a group of skincare enthusiasts, it’s a family. It’s where love and warmth was given. We talked about almost everything; from skincare to random stuff (even personal ones!). I never thought that I’ll be able to open up to people whom I just met via social media. It feels like we’ve known each other from our past lives (WHAT).

Enough about my story, let’s talk about the event!

Out of more than 30 SkinfluencersPH group members, only a number of 21 individuals were able to attend. It’s amazing how most of us made it. Some even came from the province.

In all honesty, this was supposed to be just a simple gathering. One that turned out to be extra special because of the number of generous brands who didn’t hang back from agreeing and reaching out to be our sponsors. I had this overwhelming feeling of gratitude.

It was held at Mega, SM Mega Mall. The event started at 11AM and it supposed to end at 2PM, but it was super fun, full of gratification and entertainment.

I, together with Raya @peachyskin, Camsey @skinandsheets, Ruby @marikitbyruby, Desh @d.e.s.h.i.e and Anne @anne_plify decided to prepare the lootbags first.

‘Benton’ is inspired by and named after the movie ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button’in which Benjamin Button grows younger with time. I have issues with dry and rough skin when I experienced a breakout weeks ago, though further breakout was prevented, small bumps and acne scars were left on both side of my cheeks. This product has Vit C as one of its main ingredients so I decided to use it at night, not layering it with my AHA + BHA Toner. I admit that I was hesitant to use this because I have sensitive skin, surprisingly, I did not experience irritations nor breakouts. Instead, I always wake up with a smooth and soft skin. In one week, my skin complexion has brightened, skin tone is better that it was before, and my skin has lesser bumps! Additionally, what I liked most about this product is that I always sleep at 3am or 4am; thus, I am tired and sleep deprived, but this cream made it possible for me to look like I had enough sleep. My skin has never looked this healthy. If you are looking for a minimal routine, you can use this (My PM routine only includes: a cleanser, an eye cream, and TIAM’s My Signature Red C Cream) It worked like magic.

𝐒𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭: I made my mom distinguish the scent because I am bad at it, especially when I am not that familiar with the ingredient used. She said that it smells like coffee at first, and came to a conclusion that it smells like roasted marshmallow and oatmeal. (Take note: I did not tell her about the specifications of the mask)

𝐓𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞/𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲: Feels very light on the face, most clay masks tend to feel drying and too tight on my face but this one begs to differ.

𝐔𝐬𝐚ge: I mixed 1 teaspoon of clay powder with a 1 and a half teaspoon of water, slowly mixed it into a paste. Left in on my face for 15 minutes. A little goes along the way.

𝐌𝐲 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞: I cannot seem to find the perfect word to describe this powder mask. Marshmallow + Oat mask felt super gentle in my face. Like most powder masks, it tightens as it dries, BUT it’s so light that I almost did not feel it at all, if I did not look in my front camera I wouldn’t even notice. It was THAT mild on my skin. Though it’s mild, it has this stinging effect that I felt on my healing pimple. (Take note that I used this mask with an open wound on my left cheek, where I accidentally scratched a pimple on my cheek) The stinging did not last more than 15 seconds.

I find it easy to wash off the mask. Marshmallow + Oat gave my face an instant brightening. Before even touching my face, I can already feel how soft and supple it became. Additionally, it’s also a good product to moisturize the skin in a different way, and the pores on my nose looked smaller. I used this one in my AM routine. Just imagine how confident I was when I left my home for a lunch out.

𝐒𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭: Sweet & pleasant. Smells like a combination of oatmeal and almonds, added are the delicate flavor of milk-chocolate and vanilla. Like I am inside a bakery shop! Too many distinguishable scent in one product but it isn’t too overpowering even if it stays unless it’s time to rinse-off the mask.

𝐓𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞/𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲: Thick and creamy consistency upon application (plus the tiny granules mixed with it, with balances its textures), while it feels like a dusty chalk when it dries.

𝐔𝐬𝐚𝐠𝐞: Since it is instructed to use this once a week only, I complied. A thin layer is enough for my tiny face. I let it sit for 10-15 minutes, wait ’til it dries and rinse-off.

𝐌𝐲 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞: My skin type is sensitive. In fact, it’s super sensitive to the point that I don’t like using physical exfoliators.  This product claims to exfoliate our skin that’s why I was hesitant to use it. However, astounded as I was, this worked gently on my skin. The grains are gentle enough to not tear its surface. I guess this is more of a brightening product because the exfoliating part was just too mild. Though the whiteheads on the pores on my nose area were somehow unclogged, my face was cleansed and purified. It did brighten my skin, made it soft and smooth but not for a long period of time. It does lasts until the morning after I use it at night. Take not that I do not use a toner when I use this pack because using a toner doesn’t make sense when I need to use this product or rinse my face after.

This is supposed to make my skin a bit dry, but because (I think) of the Flax Seeds that has fatty acids present, it helped my skin retain its moisture. Amill is a newly launched brand but I have to say that they did make a good first impression. I hope to try more of their products soon!

𝐌𝐲 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞: I was only supposed to use include it on my AM routine because it tends to be moisturizing and I do like moisturizing my face in the morning. However, when I first used this, I was breaking out, yet this cleanser was so gentle, I decided to use it at night too. By the way, May Morning Clear Face Cleanser is my very first gel cleanser. So I really am impressed as to how mild this was. Though this cleanser did not help in soothing and calming my skin, it did play a huge part in preventing my skin from being seriously damaged. Understandable though, because this cleanser only claims to moisturize the skin, make it soft and smooth. Yes, my skin became smooth in a way that these few small bumps on my face were cleared. It was able to clean the dirt on my skin. To sum it all up, I loved how tender it was on my skin and how it did not worsen its current condition. This also claims to be used as a first cleanser, but it works just fine for me. There’s no need to double cleanse!

• Ceramide 3- develops key ingredients and moisture barriers that helps the skin’s condition.
• Inotisol- helps give skin vitality and helps increase water retention and absorbency
• Yam Root Extract- gives a high skin-moisturizing effect and a strong and healthy skin
• Adenosine- helps in wrinkle improvement
• Portulaca Extract- moisturizes and cleans dry skin

𝐒𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭: Faint citrus scent. Refreshing.

𝐓𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞/𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲: Slightly viscous and a bit watery. It is mentioned that the product has Vegetable Mucin that has been extracted from Yam which gives it a sticky mucus. I can say that the consistency of this serum is not like the ones that I have tried.

𝐔𝐬𝐚𝐠𝐞: I regularly use this in my AM routine. My dry patches needs the moisturizing effect of this serum in the morning. As for my PM routine, I use a completely different serum that targets a distinct skin problem.

𝐌𝐲 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞: I was surprised with the abrupt change of my HG serum when I stumbled upon this one. This serum has the kind of consistency which I am looking for. The concentration may look thick, but when applied on the face, one can feel how light it is. My cheeks have rough textures, it has small bumps, and are dry. If I haven’t emphasized it enough, this serum gave my skin the moisture it needed. Like what I said, no heavy feeling at all. The adhesiveness of my skin and the serum was simply unremarkable. I just cannot begin to explain how I loved this product. It’s easily absorbed by my skin while giving it an instant glow. A natural looking one.
