About the challenge

Join us for an innovative worldwide virtual challenge designed to accelerate the development of AI solutions promoting digital inclusion. Through cross-industry collaboration, we aim to crowdsource ideas and design artifacts for frictionless, secure, and sustainable frameworks that integrate leading AI models with AWS services, enabling equitable digital experiences for all. Requirements

What to Build

Build an innovative application that combines AWS generative AI services with next-generation connectivity solutions (like 5G, IoT, or edge computing) to solve pressing challenges in healthcare, education, sustainability, or arts & culture. Your solution should demonstrate how Telecommunications networks and AI can work together to create more accessible and impactful digital experiences for all users.

Key requirements for your application include:

  • Must use AWS generative AI services (such as Amazon Bedrock, Amazon SageMaker AI or Amazon Q)
  • Must demonstrate measurable real-world impact
  • Should have a clean, intuitive user interface
  • Must be technically sound and well-engineered

What to Submit 

  • Write Up. The problem statement you set out to solve, the solution overview, and potential impact that this solution can deliver for society at-large.
  • Code. Provide a URL to your open source public code repository for judging and testing.
  • Video. Include a demo video (about 5 minutes). The video should highlight your project’s features and show how to interact with the required technology in your project. Judges are not required to watch beyond the requested video length.

Judging Criteria

  • Technological Implementation
    Does the project demonstrate quality software development? Does the project thoroughly leverage AWS generative AI services? How is the quality of the code?
  • Design
    Is the user experience and design of the project well thought out? Is there a balanced blend of frontend and backend in the software?
  • Potential Impact
    How big of an impact could the project have on the generative AI community? How big of an impact could it have beyond the target community?
  • Quality of the Idea
    How creative and unique is the project? Does the concept exist already? If so, how much does the project improve on it?
