Edge: 4.6%
Game: Celtics vs Grizzlies (8PM EST)

Our Basketball Forever betting bot has uncovered the best bet of the day, taking place in the Celtics vs Grizzlies matchup. In this matchup, our model has determined that Celtics +15.5 is a solid wager. Going into tonight’s game the Grizzlies roster is suffering from a lot of injuries. The Grizzlies haven’t covered tonight’s number in 2/5 of their most recent matchups. With the Grizzlies missing players along with having trouble covering this number, our model suspects the Celtics will take control of tonight’s game, limiting the Grizzlies shot attempts allowing for the Celtics to cover tonight’s number. Our model is projecting the Celtics +15.5 to cover this line tonight.

Our Basketball Forever betting bot recommends placing a wager on Celtics +15.5, with -108 odds and a 4.6% edge, this is our best bet of the day.

Game: Hawks vs Rockets (8PM EST)

Our model has determined one of the best NBA bets for Friday’s game slate, setting its sights on the matchup between the Hawks vs Rockets. Our Basketball Forever betting bot has pinpointed Hawks +3.5 as the play in tonight’s NBA slate. Matched up against the Rockets who have only covered this number in 1/5 of their most recent matchups, our model suspects the Hawks will be able to take control of this game, covering tonight’s spread. The Hawks have been able to cover this particular number in 5/5 of their most recent matchups, leading our model to predict that the Hawks will be able to limit the Rockets shot attempts, leading to them covering this number tonight.

Another exciting day of basketball is upon us, with many attractive options to bet on across the NBA slate tonight. With the help of advanced simulations and machine learning, our Basketball Forever bot has run thousands of simulations on every game to expertly pinpoint our best player prop bets for tonight.

1. JAYLEN BROWN OVER 6.5 TOTAL REBOUNDS (+112)

Odds: +112
Probability: 56.2%
Projection: 7.6
Edge: 9%
Game: Celtics vs Grizzlies (8PM EST)

The Basketball Forever betting bot has found the first best player prop bet for Today, finding value in the total rebounds made prop market. With our sights set on Jaylen Brown Over 6.5 Total Rebounds in the Celtics vs Grizzlies matchup. Brown has averaged 7 REB so far throughout the season.
In his first match this season against the Grizzlies, Brown was able to end the game with a total of 6 assists made, falling one short from covering tonight’s number. With our model projecting Brown to finish with a total of 7.5 REB, we have a high degree of confidence in Brown to exceed this line tonight.

We recommend placing a wager on Jaylen Brown Over 6.5 Total Rebounds, with an attractive edge of 9%, with +112 odds.

2. DENI AVDIJA OVER 6.5 TOTAL ASSISTS (+124)

Odds: +124

Projection: 7
Edge: 8.4%
Game: Trail Blazers vs Timberwolves (8PM EST)

According to our model, another best player prop bet for today’s NBA slate features Deni Avdija in the Trail Blazers vs Timberwolves matchup. Showing value in the total assists made prop market, Avdija is averaging 6.7 assists throughout the season. He’s been able to exceed this number in 3/5 most recent matchups, showing 5/5/9/8/7 assists in each. Our model suspects that after exceeding this line in 3/5 of his most recent matchups, our model suspects Avdija will continue grabbing any loose balls that come his way, exceeding his line. With the Timberwolves letting up a total of 26.1 assists per game, along with our model projecting Avdija to finish tonight’s game with a total of 7 AST, we believe there will be plenty of time for Avdija to exceed this line.

The Brooklyn Nets may be without their most important offensive weapon for the remainder of the season, with Michael Porter Jr. facing another injury setback.

The team announced Thursday that Porter has suffered a strained left hamstring and will be reevaluated in two to three weeks, according to ESPN. With just over three weeks remaining in the regular season, there is a growing possibility that his campaign could already be over.

The injury comes at a difficult time for Brooklyn, not just because of Porter’s production, but also due to the timing within the season. The forward had already missed the past three games with a sprained right ankle before this latest issue surfaced.

An MRI conducted Wednesday confirmed the hamstring strain, adding to what has been a frustrating stretch for both Porter and the Nets.

Brooklyn currently sits at 17–52 and has dropped five consecutive games, leaving them with the third-worst record in the league. While the losses have piled up, the organization appears to have little urgency to rush Porter back given its positioning toward the NBA draft lottery.

Porter’s absence would be a significant loss regardless of context.

In his first season with the Nets after arriving from Denver, the former NBA champion has put together the best year of his career. He is averaging 24.2 points, 7.1 rebounds and 3.0 assists, emerging as the clear focal point of Brooklyn’s offense.

His scoring leap has been one of the few bright spots in an otherwise difficult season for the franchise.

The uncertainty now centers on whether Porter will have the opportunity to build on that momentum before the offseason begins. With the reevaluation window stretching into the final days of the regular season, the timeline leaves little room for a return unless his recovery progresses quickly.

For a Nets team already looking ahead, the focus may shift toward preserving their leading scorer’s health rather than risking further injury in a season that has already slipped out of contention.

The Miami Heat are expected to make a significant roster move ahead of the playoffs, with guard Terry Rozier likely to be waived before the end of the regular season.

Miami is preparing to release Rozier in order to open up a roster spot as the team gears up for its postseason run, sources confirmed to ESPN. The decision comes after months of uncertainty surrounding Rozier’s status following his arrest in October as part of a federal investigation into illegal gambling.

Rozier has not been with the team since October 23, when he was taken into custody. His situation has continued to cast a shadow over Miami’s roster, particularly given the circumstances surrounding his arrival to the franchise.

The trade that brought Rozier to the Heat from the Charlotte Hornets in January 2024 was later scrutinized, with questions raised about whether Miami should have been informed of ongoing NBA and federal investigations tied to an alleged gambling conspiracy before the deal was finalized.

The situation escalated to the point where the NBA had to step in to help resolve matters between the two teams.

As part of that resolution, Charlotte agreed to send a second-round pick in the upcoming NBA Draft to Miami. The Heat, meanwhile, still owe the Hornets a future first-round pick as part of the original trade agreement.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver addressed the situation publicly earlier this season.

“It’s an unprecedented situation,” Silver said during a press conference at the NBA Cup in Las Vegas.

Rozier has pleaded not guilty to conspiracy charges involving wire fraud and money laundering, and his $26.6 million salary has been placed in escrow while legal proceedings continue.

From a basketball standpoint, the timing of a potential waiver is also significant.

Due to Rozier being on an expiring contract, Miami must waive him by 5 p.m. on April 9 in order for him to clear waivers before the regular season concludes on April 12.

The Detroit Pistons have been dealt a major blow at the worst possible time, with franchise star Cade Cunningham sidelined after being diagnosed with a collapsed lung.

The team confirmed Thursday that Cunningham is dealing with a left lung pneumothorax and will be reevaluated in two weeks, forcing him to miss at least eight games as Detroit continues its push toward the postseason.

There is some early optimism surrounding the situation, however.

The injury is considered mild, and there is belief Cunningham could return in time for the playoffs, which are set to begin on April 18th, sources told ESPN’s Shams Charania.

The injury comes as a shock given how it initially presented. Cunningham exited Tuesday’s game against the Washington Wizards with what the Pistons first described as back spasms. The issue occurred early in the first quarter after he dove for a loose ball and collided with Wizards guard Tre Johnson.

He briefly attempted to play through it but was clearly uncomfortable before checking out just over a minute later.

Detroit now faces the challenge of maintaining its position atop the Eastern Conference without its leader. The Pistons currently sit at 49–19, holding a 3.5 game lead over the Boston Celtics.

Despite Cunningham’s absence, there is some evidence the team can stay afloat. Detroit has gone 5-2 in games without him this season, showing its depth during stretches where their star has been unavailable.

Still, replacing Cunningham’s production is no easy task.

The 24-year-old is averaging 24.5 points and 9.9 assists across 61 games this season, with the latter ranking second in the entire NBA. His all-around impact has been a driving force behind what is shaping up to be Detroit’s best season in nearly two decades.

Historically, those numbers place him in elite company. Only eight players in league history have averaged at least that many points and assists over a full season, and Cunningham would be the first to do so in a Pistons uniform.

Deandre Ayton and his time with the Los Angeles Lakers hasn’t been smooth from the start, but it now looks like the big man is turning a corner at exactly the right time.

After earlier frustrations about his offensive role, Ayton has shifted his mindset, and it’s paying off. With the Lakers building momentum, the former No. one overall pick is leaning fully into the dirty work that’s fueling winning basketball.

Ayton admitted that a period of self-reflection changed everything.

“That’s a fact. That is a true fact,” he told The Athletic’s Dan Woike. “But me, I scratched that, I took that out. I said … when it comes to scoring, we don’t need that. We need you to put that energy what you have for offense and into defense.

“I just started looking in the mirror and said ‘Yo bro, … you’re not that guy. You don’t need to be on this team doing that at all. This team, you came here to be the effort guy and close out possessions, rebound. Run the damn floor hard as hell, make bigs work, make superstars work.

“And I’m having fun with it, I’m not gonna lie.”

That shift has coincided with a strong run for the Lakers, with Ayton impacting games through rebounding, rim protection and energy, areas that don’t always show up in the box score but are critical in high-level games.

He also acknowledged that the rest of the roster had already reached that level of urgency, and that he’s now catching up as the playoffs approach.

“JJ’s been instilling to us that this is a playoff atmosphere, and we fighting for a playoff position,” Ayton said. “You can tell LeBron’s been locked in, Luka — everybody’s been completely locked in, and I’m just tired of being the odd man out. I think I told the media the other day, it’s just me finally catching up.

“Team’s been there; it’s just been me.”

As the NBA edges closer to potential expansion, not everyone is convinced it’s the right move, including Hall of Famer Tracy McGrady.

With a board of governors meeting approaching and cities like Las Vegas and Seattle firmly in the conversation, expansion appears to be gaining momentum. But McGrady believes the league may be overlooking a key issue: the current talent pool.

The former scoring champion made it clear he isn’t sold on adding more teams to the league right now.

“I’m all for trying to increase the revenue… I’m just like, we have 30 teams, got a lot of players, 450 maybe more now,” McGrady said speaking on the Cousins with Vince Carter & Tracy McGrady podcast. “We don’t have the talent to be trying to start two more teams. I just don’t think we have the talent to start two more teams. Now can we take away two teams & add two teams?”

The NBA currently operates with 30 franchises, and expansion would not only increase revenue opportunities but also create additional roster spots across the league. However, McGrady’s concern centers around how that talent would be distributed, and whether the overall product would suffer as a result.

“I’m saying keep it at 30,” McGrady added. “The talent to me is down, bro.”

The comments come at a time when the NBA is balancing its global growth with competitive integrity. Expansion into markets like Seattle, which has long pushed for the return of the SuperSonics, and Las Vegas, a rapidly growing sports hub, would mark a significant step forward financially.

But it would also test the league’s depth.

McGrady’s perspective reflects a broader debate across basketball circles. While expansion promises new opportunities and increased revenue, it also raises legitimate questions about whether there are enough high-level players to sustain two additional teams without diluting the quality of play.

The Milwaukee Bucks are facing a difficult decision as their season continues to slip away, with internal discussions reportedly centered around shutting down Giannis Antetokounmpo for the remainder of the year.

The organization has explored the idea of ending Giannis’ season following his latest knee injury, but the two-time MVP is not on board with that plan.

“The Milwaukee Bucks want to shut down Giannis Antetokounmpo for the remainder of the season after his latest injury and their postseason chances dwindled, but the two-time NBA MVP has refused the team’s requests and wants to play again,” sources told ESPN’s Shams Charania.

The situation has developed quickly over the past 24 hours, with multiple meetings taking place between both sides. Despite the team’s concerns, Antetokounmpo remains determined to return if medically cleared.

“The sides had multiple meetings over the last 24 hours, but Antetokounmpo has remained adamant about returning to the court this season, feeling as long as he’s not risking any further injury,” sources told ESPN.

The Bucks officially announced earlier this week that Antetokounmpo is dealing with a left knee injury, with further details revealing a hyperextension and bone bruise that will sideline him for at least one week.

The injury occurred during Sunday’s game against the Indiana Pacers when Giannis landed awkwardly after a dunk attempt. Although he initially believed he could continue, Milwaukee opted to sit him out for the remainder of the contest.

Now sitting at 28-40 and 11th in the Eastern Conference, the Bucks find themselves 6.5 games back from the final play-in spot, making any postseason push increasingly unlikely. That reality is a major factor behind the organization’s cautious approach.

Antetokounmpo has already missed 32 games this season, the most of his career, in what has been a frustrating year filled with injuries, including previous calf issues.
