Laney College and ASLC are generous partners of BeeLikeCoders 2.0

 

We invite you to showcase your coding prowess and cultivate a deep learning model using any programming language(s) you're proficient in. Simply craft a website, app, or project centered around a theme revealed at orientation, and you'll be swarming towards success! Bees out!

 

This 24-hour hackathon will begin at 9 AM (PST) on Saturday, April 15th, and end at 9 AM (PST) on Sunday, April 16th.

To qualify for prizes, participants must submit a website, app, or app prototype pertaining to the announced theme at orientation. This hackathon is open to any students based in the United States.

Requirements

  • Participants must be a US high school or college student.

  • All final projects must be completed during the 24-hour time period.

  • All final projects must be submitted to Devpost for participants to be eligible for prizes.

  • Submissions will need to include a text description that explains the features and functionality of the product in English.

  • Access must be provided for judging and testing by providing a link to a website, functioning demo, or a test build. If an entrant’s code repository is private, then they must include login credentials in their testing instructions.

This prize will be awarded to a team that submitted the overall best website, game, app, app prototype, or discord bot. The winner of this prize will have to exceed in all areas of judging.

This prize will be awarded to a team that submitted the second-best website, game, app, app prototype, or discord bot. The winner of this prize will have to perform well in most areas of judging.

Best Community College Hack

Judging Criteria

  • Concept
    Does the project address a clear need, problem, or opportunity and is the solution clearly explained?
  • Innovation
    The project that clearly and meaningfully innovates beyond existing products or services are highly considered.
  • Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility
    The team should adequately address how the needs of all users with regards to gender, ethnicity, disability segment, or other diverse characteristics were considered to make their project inclusive and accessible.
  • Technology
    The project must make an effective and appropriate use of the major features in student betterment. The project should have a professional degree of production in terms of performance, user interface, visuals, and audio.
